SCHOLARSHIP GUIDE

PURSUING YOUR EDUCATION


At Full Sail University, we understand that deciding where and how to pursue higher education is an important and life-changing decision. T his guide is designed to help you evaluate your financial options when it comes to Full Sail University by exploring a scholarship that may be available to you, as well as the details and eligibility requirements applicable to this scholarship. SCHOLARSHIP

MISSION STATEMENT
The Full Sail Creative Minds Scholarship is designed to identify high school seniors who are exceptionally talented in their written and visual communication, academically successful, and passionate about the entertainment and media industries. Through the Creative Minds Scholarship, eligible campus-based bachelor of science and bachelor of fine arts program participants may receive up to $25,000 toward the tuition of most of Full Sail Universitys campusbased degree programs.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Creative Minds Scholarship program will award up to $25,000 to eligible high school seniors pursuing select Full Sail campus degree programs. Applicants will need to adhere to eligibility criteria and strict deadlines listed below. Have submitted their unofficial high school transcripts to Full Sail via the applicants Launch website by Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Have submitted an original 1,000-word-maximum response to the essay question listed on page 6 of this guide via the applicants Launch website by Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Applicants must have applied for and met the requirements for a Full Sail 20- to 21-month bachelor of science or bachelor of fine arts campus degree program. Semifinalists, to be announced Friday, March 29, 2013, must submit a project based on their degree of interest to Full Sail by Friday, April 19, 2013, per instructions outlined on page 7 of this guide. Student must be on campus attending classes at the time of their start date as chosen by Full Sail. Read and complete the Creative Minds scholarship application thoroughly and answer the essay question on page 6 of this guide. Upload the Creative Minds scholarship application, unofficial high school transcripts, and completed essay as detailed on page 6 of this guide to Full Sail University via the students Launch website by Wednesday, March 20, 2013. PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS, ESSAYS, AND/OR UNOFFICAL TRANSCRIPTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED VIA FAX AND, EMAIL AND/OR POSTAL MAIL. APPLICATIONS, ESSAYS, AND UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED VIA THE STUDENTS LAUNCH WEBSITE. Semifinalists must also complete and submit an original project dependent on degree of interest (details listed on page 7 of this guide) by Friday, April 19, 2013. Semifinalists will be announced by Full Sail University on Friday, March 29, 2013 and will receive instructions on how to submit their projects via email on Friday, April 5, 2013.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS


In order to be eligible for consideration, those applying for the Creative Minds Scholarship must: Be a 2013 graduating high school senior earning a standard high school diploma. Have conducted a formal interview with their Full Sail Admissions Representative and submitted their enrollment application by Friday, March 15, 2013. Have completed and submitted the official Creative Minds Scholarship application to Full Sail via the applicants Launch website by Wednesday, March 20, 2013. The scholarship application will be made available to eligible applicants upon receipt of enrollment application on or before March 15, 2013.

HOW TO APPLY
In order to be eligible for consideration, those applying for the Creative Minds Scholarship must: Complete the official Full Sail admissions interview AND submit an enrollment application by Friday, March 15, 2013.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD DETERMINATION
Scholarship seminalists will be notified by the Full Sail University Admissions Department on Friday, March 29, 2013, provided all eligibility requirements are met.
Semifinalists will be determined by review of their unofficial transcripts, and response to the essay topic listed on page 6 of this guide.

PROVISIONS
Applicants must have applied as a new student to Full Sail University for a start date between July 11 and September 30, 2013. A change of degree program, interruption of training or withdrawal from degree program will result in cancellation of scholarship award and disbursements. Student understands that a change of student status will impact eligibility. Final award of scholarship is contingent upon receipt of all required Admissions and Financial Aid documents by assigned start date. Students who delay their start date as determined by Full Sail forfeit their eligibility. Funds from the Creative Minds Scholarship may be used only toward the tuition of a Full Sail 20- to 21-month campus bachelor of science or bachelor of fine arts degree program. This scholarship is nontransferable and has no redeemable cash value.

Files provided as part of a submission will not be returned.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Full Sail University Admissions Department on Monday, May 6, 2013, provided all eligibility requirements above are met.
Recipients will be determined by the project submitted to Full Sail based on their degree of interest as listed on page 7 of this guide.

The essay and project must be original work of the applicant. If an original piece of art is manipulated in the project, or if an outside source is cited in the essay, the student must give credit to the works owner/author. All submissions deemed to be offensive by Full Sail University because of racial, sexual, or otherwise offensive content will be disqualified. Essays and work submitted will be judged by Full Sail University Faculty. Scholarship cannot be combined with any additional Full Sail initiated and awarded scholarships. Full Sail University reserves the right to determine award recipients start date for their degree of interest. Financial aid available for those who qualify.

Scholarship will be disbursed throughout the students academic years, amount to be equally divided between semesters, as applicable.

Creative Minds
SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY:
All applicants must answer the following essay question and submit their 1000-word maximum response to Full Sail via the applicants Launch website by Wednesday, March 20, 2013 along with other criteria listed in the provisions section of this guide:

MARK TWAIN
Based on your previous personal experiences and your future professional aspirations, communicate the following to Full Sail Universitys Scholarship Committee, incorporating all of the questions below: What degree do you hope to pursue in college? Describe your ideal career 10 years after college graduation. What is that career? What does your professional day-to-day life look like? What milestones do you hope to achieve throughout your professional career? How do you envision your college experience will support your professional aspirations? Explain how Mark Twains quote above supports the decision for your specific college major and inspires you to obtain the ideal career detailed in your essay.

SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT REQUIREMENTS FOR SEMIFINALISTS:
Specific instructions for uploading of portfolios/ projects will be delivered by email to semifinalists on Friday, April 5, 2013: Computer Animation: piece(s) of traditional artwork (drawing, painting, sculpture) or an animated short
Unless noted, the maximum project le size is 50MB.

Film: a short film (can be narrative or documentary in nature)


Please note the maximum size limit for this project is 500MB

Recording Arts: original music composition(s) submitted as an audio file only or digitally re-mastered musical piece(s). Show Production: an original computer-generated piece which illustrates a lighting composition for a complete live event or a complete marketing plan for a live event Sports Marketing & Media: an original marketing plan specific to a sports organization or business Web Design & Development: an original webpage design communicated either visually or in writing along with an explanation of why you made the choices you did for the pages design. Supplying a live link to that webpage is also welcomed if available.

Game Art: piece(s) of traditional artwork (drawing, painting, sculpture) or a game-centric animated short Game Development: An original video game created in the Unity Game Engine v4.0 (http://unity3d.com/). Game must be written in either C# or Javascript language and submission must include all sources and assets used to create the game. Outside sources must be cited within submission. Submissions must be under 50MB and submitted as a complete project in ZIP file format. Music Business: an original business plan for an organization/ business specifically related to the music industry

Creative Writing for Entertainment: an original piece of short fiction or screenplay Digital Arts & Design: piece(s) of traditional or computer-generated artwork or design Entertainment Business: an original business plan for an organization/ business specifically related to the entertainment industry
