Material Description

Cotton

Cotton is the most widely used of all plant fibers. It is strong through soft & highly absorbent making it ideal wear for warm climate. Polyester is the general name for any of a group of widely used plastic material. The most commanly used plastic material which is spun into fiber is Polythylene Terephthalate (PET) Its a Trade name for one polyester when blended with cotton gives us terycot, a long lasting fabric. Terywool is manufactured by blending Terylene woth wool. Its a Trade name for Elastofibers, was originally developed for lingerie. It can be blended with a whole range of fibers, both natural & synthetic.

Its a manufactured fiber produced from purified cellulose or Viscose Rayon wood pulp. Cellulose is chemically converted into a viscous mass from which filaments are made. Voile is a sheer, semi-crisp fabric made with highly twisted yarns with a plain weave in natural & synthetic fibers. It gets its name from the french word Voiler, which means Veil.

Linen is the yarn or cloth made from fibers of the flax plant. It is one of the strongest natural fiber.

Silk

Silk is the fine soft thread produced by the larve of the silkworm moth when making its cocoon. It is the strongest of all natural fibers. Wool is a fiber that comes from a fleece of sheep & some other animals. This material has a very good insulation power which doesnot allow heat to escape the material Nylon is a tough elastic substance that can be formed into fibers. Fabric made from this fiber was the first synthetic fiber thought to be superior to natural fibers.

Denim

Denim is a hard wearing, sturdy fabric commonly used for jeans & other durable clothes. It is made from cotton & nowadays from with synthetic fibers or a blend of both.

Flannel is made from wool & from blends that consist of wool & cotton or viscose rayon.

Brocade

Brocade is a rich, woven fabric, traditionally made from silk, but nowadays available in cotton, linen, wool or even synthetic fibers.

Corduroy

Corduroy is a cotton or cotton blend fabric with velvety ribs of the cloth running lenghtwise.

Organza

Organza is a sheer, lightweight, crisp & wiry fabric. It is made of ahrd, twisted silk yarn that is woven in a plain weave pattern.

Satin

Satin is a weave in which the horizontal threads known as the weft do not cross the vertical ones known as the warp as as often as in a plain weave Velvet was originally made of silk. Today it is more often made of cotton, viscose rayon, nylon, polyester or a blends of these fibers. It has a glossy pile, a short,thick furry surface.
