COMPLAINT LETTER

A letter of complaint, or complaint letter, is normally written to deal with a problem situation when other attempts (i.e. phone contacts, e-mails, etc.) have failed to rectify the situation.

The complaint letter formalizes a problem situation by putting it into writing and is usually the last resort to try to get a situation resolved

THANKS YOU LETTER

A type of correspondence in which the writer expresses gratitude for a gift, service, or opportunity. A letter of thanks, or thank you letter, is a personal letter that is used when one party wishes to express appreciation to another party on a personal level.

So by definition, letters of thanks are most often written for personal situations as opposed to business situations.

APOLOGY LETTER

A letter of apology, or apology letter, is primarily written to try to salvage a relationship after the writer and/or their organization has made a mistake, or otherwise offended another party.

ENQUIRY LETTER

A letter of Enquiry asks someone for specific information. In some cases, such as a request for promotional material, the recipient will have a clear interest in responding to your letter. In other cases, such as a request for specific information on a product, the recipient may or may not be as motivated to respond quickly. Consequently, always make the tone of the letter friendly and make it easy for the recipient to identify and provide the information you need.

APPLICATION LETTER

An application letter is merely another name for a cover letter, the official business letter often included with a job application and/or resume and sent to a prospective employer. Although application letters are generally considered optional components of applying for a job, more and more frequently, employers are singling out those who actually take the time to write an application letter as their top pick.

SALES LETTER
