I am to how that it is the duty of every Chritian to receive the Lords Supper as often as he can. Firt, that if we conider the Lords Supper as a command of Chrit, no man can have any pretene to Chritian piety, who does not receive it (not once a month but) as often as he can. Secondly, that if we conider the intitution of it, as a mercy to ourelves, no man who does not receive it as often as he can has any pretene to Chritian prudence. Thirdly, that none of the objections uually made, can be any excue for that man who does not, at every opportunity, obey this command and accept this mercy. I BELIEVE there is no LITURGY in the world, either in ancient or modern language, which breathes more of a olid, criptural, rational piety, than the COMMON PRAYER of the CHURCH of ENGLAND: and though the main of it was compiled coniderably more than two hundred years ago, yet is the language of it not only pure, but trong and elegant in the highet degree. I myelf find more life in the Church Prayers, than in any formal extemporary prayers of Dienters. Nor is it expedient for any Methodit Preacher to imitate the Dienters in their manner of praying; either in his tone, all particular tones both in prayer and preaching hould be avoided with the utmot care; nor in his language, all his words hould be plain and imple, uch as the lowet of his hearers both ue and undertand; or in the length of his prayer, which hould not uually exceed four or five minutes, either before or after ermon. And we advie every one who preaches in the church hours to read the Palms and Leons, with part of the Church Prayers; because we apprehend this will endear the Church ervice to our brethren, who probably would be prejudiced against it, if they heard none but extemporary prayer. 5

The Communion Rite Pastor: The peace of the Lord be always with you. Answer. And with thy spirit. Pastor: THE body of our Lord Jesus Christ which was given for thee, preserve thy body and soul unto everlasting life. The bread which we break, is the communion of the body of Christ. For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 28

THE blood of our Lord Jesus Christ which was shed for thee, preserve thy body and soul unto everlasting life. The cup of blessing which we bless, is the communion of the blood of Christ, which cleanseth us from all sin, purging our consciences from dead works to serve the living God.
Then shall the Pastor first receive the Communion in both kinds himself, and then proceed to deliver the same to the others, or the Pastor may receive the bread and wine last.

Thanksgiving After the Meal Pastor: ALMIGHTY and everliving GOD, Holy Father, which by thy holy Apostle hast taught us to make prayers, and supplications, and to give thanks for all men: we most heartily thank thee for thy holy Name, which thou hast made to tabernacle in our hearts, and for the knowledge and faith and immortality, which thou hast made known unto us through thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord; Answer. Teach me to live, that I may dread The grave as little as my bed. Teach me to die, that so I may Rise glorious at the judgment day. O may my soul on thee repose, And with sweet sleep mine eyelids close, Sleep that may me more vigorous make To serve my God when I awake.
