Helps diesel fuel burn more completely

More than 300 million diesel engines are currently in use worldwide. Obviously this workhorse technology is well-accepted in a wide variety of diverse applications, but still, it leaves much to be desired. Diesels are messy, smelly and inefficient machines. The main reason is that only 25 to 30% of diesel fuel is typically converted into mechanical energy. The remainder is radiated into the atmosphere as waste heat. The partially combusted fuel either coats engine components or is exhausted in the form of black smoke and toxic fumes. UltraBurn Combustion Catalyst Systems significantly improve diesel engine performance by stimulating a more complete burn. UltraBurn makes engines run better and pollute less.

Pre-combustion injection

Other pollution-reducing solutions for diesel engines are called post-combustion products, because they filter, burn or alter the exhaust gases. ETI manufactures the only effective pre-combustion injection solution. This system is based on well-established science involving a special blend of platinum and other metals similar to those used in catalytic converters. Nano-sized particles of this mixture are injected as a mist into the engines air intake chamber, where they are quickly drawn into the combustion chamber to achieve a more complete fuel burn in the power stroke. The result is more useful power from each stroke, lower emissions and substantially less fuel consumed.
Not a fuel tank additive

Patented aerosol chemistry

Emissions Technology has developed two systems to introduce the UltraBurn catalyst into an engine. For smaller diesels, UltraBurn systems use a patented aerosol technology, which draws air bubbles through a liquid catalyst. This creates a mist that is injected into an engines air intake and then pulled into the combustion chamber where it combines with diesel fuel to stimulate and enhance the burn. More than 2,500 engines have benefitted from this pull-through injection approach. For larger engines, Emissions Technology has now developed a direct injection delivery system that converts liquid catalyst into a fine mist using proprietary spray nozzle technology.
Proven under adverse conditions

Numerous fuel additive products have been marketed to boost diesel engine performance. For various reasons, the results have been disappointing. UltraBurn is not a fuel tank additive, and should not be compared to those products. As engine manufacturers continue to develop new technology, such as high pressure fuel injection, which allows them to meet the strict Tier 4 standards, the use of fuel additives will be even more problematic. Anything affecting the engine oil or diesel fuel will likely be discouraged.
Synergistic emissions solutions

UltraBurn systems were first used in construction and mining applications, where harsh external factors like extreme temperatures, dust, vibration and climate changes quickly put it to the test. Many of the early adopters were willing to work with ETI to improve and optimize the system because they wanted the results it could deliver. Through this experience, ETI has systematically upgraded the ruggedness of internal components and significantly improved the systems ability to properly inject the UltraBurn aerosol catalyst for the most demanding applications. ETI also has substantial experience in determining the best mounting sites for every type and size of engine.

Pollution control systems based totally on exhaust filters or catalytic converters create back pressure on the engine, which makes the engine work harder to achieve the necessary horsepower. Because UltraBurn reduces engine-out emissions, it enhances exhaust-based systems by reducing back pressure and emissions system maintenance for better overall results.

Cuts fuel costs up to 20%

Hundreds of companies have tried UltraBurn Combustion Catalyst Systems, and naturally, the first thing they want to know is, Has our fuel usage gone down? The answer is always yes, but the amount varies according to the type and size of engine, and the manner in which it is being used. ETI has documented fuel savings in customer trials from 5% to 20%. Reductions on the high end of that range are unusual, but customers have reported significant improvement in dozens of cases. For companies whose monthly fuel bills run in six figures, a 10% gain is reason to celebrate. Fuel consumption metrics for off-road engine applications are more difficult to establish than milesper-gallon measurements for trucks and automobiles, but ETI has developed a variety of ways to demonstrate improved performance. Our authorized distributors will gladly share these methods with you as you evaluate the use of UltraBurn catalysts in your diesel equipment.
Boosts engine horsepower

UltraBurn helps diesel engines run better in the oilfield, both offshore and on land.

When diesel fuel burns more completely, the result is extra power for every piston stroke. In one lab test, a major equipment distributor recorded a 16% horsepower increase boosting an engine rated 447 hp to one able to deliver 520 hp at 100% load. Other customers, especially ones operating large construction and mining equipment, reported noticeable power gains after the catalyst system was fully broken in. Older engines are a primary beneficiary of UltraBurn technology, delivering performance not seen by owners for many years.
Reduces black smoke up to 70%

For applications requiring smoother, quieter running engines, UltraBurn is ideal.

Its easy to get sidetracked by UltraBurns fuel saving and horsepower boosting capabilities, but the product was originally developed as a pollution control solution. And it just happens to be very good at that. UltraBurn systems can reduce black smoke emissions up to 70%. Carbon monoxide can be reduced similarly. Total hydrocarbons (THC) can be reduced 65%. Carbon dioxide has been reduced up to 12% and nitrogen oxides (NOx) up to 23%.

UltraBurn cuts black smoke emissions up to 70%, even on large diesel engines.

Emissions reductions made possible by the UltraBurn catalyst system have been impartially and scientifically tested by independent testing firms using generally accepted testing procedures, even the stringent California Air Resources Board (CARB) protocols.
Extends maintenance intervals

More than 2,500 engines have benefitted from UltraBurns patented aerosol chemistry.

One benefit of the UltraBurn Combustion Catalyst System is reduction of lubricant soot in the engine crankcase. Soot is partially burned fuel that impinges on cylinder walls, where it is scraped into the engine oil sump by piston rings, causing abrasion, filter plugging and increased maintenance problems. Cleaner burning engines with UltraBurn systems can extend oil change intervals by as much as 100%. UltraBurn also helps reduce torsional vibration in diesel engines, which means less wear on vital engine parts like main bearings and rod bearings. Diesel engines that run smoother have also been shown to produce less ambient noise, which is important when they are operating in close proximity to people.
For all off-road markets

Marine diesels from workboats to ocean-going freighters and cruise ships run better with UltraBurn.

UltraBurn combustion catalyst systems are approved for use in off-road diesel engines in a wide variety of enduse applications. This includes construction, mining, oil and gas drilling and production, marine, rail transportation, agriculture, military and decentralized power generation. From stationary applications like gensets, irrigation systems and rock crushers, to mobile or truck-mounted engines on well servicing rigs, road graders and farm tractors, UltraBurn has satisfied customers using equipment of all shapes and sizes. The Direct Injection UltraBurn delivery system is specifically designed for larger diesel engines, from 1500 hp up to 30,000 hp and beyond. This is ideal for locomotive engines, ocean-going ships, large military vehicles and mid-sized cogeneration power plants.

UltraBurn is one of the most thoroughly tested products youll ever find. Numerous independent testing companies and dozens of sophisticated customers have performed impartial, scientifically valid engine studies demonstrating the value of UltraBurn catalyst systems. ETI has compiled reams of test data covering almost every aspect of engine performance, and these test summaries are available for examination. For example, the well-respected Olson-Ecologic Engine Testing Laboratories put UltraBurn through the rigorous California Air Resources Board test protocols. The result? 42.8% reduction in particulate matter emissions. 58.3% reduction in total hydrocarbons, and 13.6% reduction in nitrogen oxide. Southwest Research Institute checked to see if trace particles of the UltraBurn catalyst could be found in the engine exhaust. They found none. Analytical Engineering Inc. examined the issue of lubricant soot in engine oil. They recorded a 12% reduction with UltraBurn after only 36 hours of testing. Quality Testing Services looked at the effect of temperature extremes on the UltraBurn delivery unit. The product components performed successfully at -50 C and +120 C. They also conducted accelerated life vibration tests, with ETI test units operating successfully to 75 Grms. Thats enough to shake the fillings out of the average equipment operator. Holt Caterpillar (San Antonio, TX) used a spectral analyzer to measure engine vibration at 50%, 85% and 100% load. They observed a 16.3% horsepower improvement at 100% load. They also achieved a 79% reduction in black smoke emissions and 69% reduction in total hydrocarbons. One mining equipment company found no carbon build up on piston heads after 6,000 hours of operation. Another recorded average fuel savings of 26.4% on a sampling of earth movers and heavy ore haulers. When you look at all the facts, the benefits are easy to see. Its time to start improving your diesel engine performance with UltraBurn Combustion Catalyst Systems.
