The most recent awards conferred on him, while being head of the Confederation of Indian Industries include the Honoris Causa Doctor of Science (D. Sc.) for his outstanding contributions in the field of Quality Movement and Manufacturing Excellence, the distinguished civilian honour Order of Diplomatic Service Merit (Heung-In Medal) conferred by the President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Lee Myung-bak in recognition of his valuable contribution in promoting Korea-India bilateral relations and the prestigious honour by the President of Indian with the Padma Shri award for his valuable and outstanding contributions in the field of Trade and Industry.
