The word spa is also used to describe a place where people go to take the waters. The traditional interpretation of the word (which evidently inspired the name TeucoHydrospa) is: Salus Per Aquam. Discover the intensity of the jets and the moving mass of water, bubbling and full of energy. FACT The TeucoHydrospa has a more powerful system than a whirlpool bathtub, and a greater number of jets. The quantity of water in motion is far greater than that of a conventional whirlpool bathtub, so that the body is able to float when immersed, which puts less pressure on the limbs and leads to a feeling of relaxation, thanks to the added effect of the whirlpool massage.

WHIRLPOOL: WHY IT IS GOOD FOR YOU The stream of air bubbles and water induces an alternating compression and decompression of body tissue. FACT The TeucoHydrospa is spacious, and has at least three seats with jets differing in number, flow rate and intensity. Ergonomic design ensures that all the seats are anatomically contoured, and the jets are positioned so as to target specific areas of the body. THIS IS MORE THAN A NEW POOL; THIS IS A NEW PLEASURE.

Feel free to enjoy this relaxing experience the way you want to, deep in water or comfortably lying down or sitting around the pool. Inside the pool: its wide space can fit up to 4 people lying down on the massage seats or relaxing on the chaise-longue for total immersion. Everything can be done in clean, warm water which is kept at the right temperature thanks to Teucos Hydrospa filtering and heating systems. Outside the pool: you have the chance to lie down in the sun or sit on red brick or light grey coloured soft cushions on the edge of the spa, in the so called beach area. Many accessories make the Hydrospa Seaside even more valuable: the built-in fridge to keep your drinks cool, the underwater floodlights and the perimeter lights which enable you to enjoy your spa at night.

A LOT OF HIDDEN TECHNOLOGY LETS THE WATER DO THE TALKING.

Everything is easy and natural in the Hydrospa Seaside: controls and paper filters are hidden in an easy to access compartment, while jets are small and attractive. Everything is designed to maximise relaxation. The enchanting sound of a radio or CD player comes from the invisible loudspeakers, thanks to Acoustic Panel technology by Oyster. The (optional) magnetic headrests, exclusively designed by Teuco, are easy to move and can be positioned anywhere around the edge of the Hydrospa. This means that whichever massage you choose, a comfortable position is guaranteed, thanks to the ergonomic nature of the seats.

The grille collects the falling water produced by the overow system and has a non-slip surface as a result of the dual material technology used to construct it, where soft material is layered over rigid material.

TEUCO HYDROSPA 620-630 WITH INTEGRATED AUTOMATIC DISINFECTION

A SOLID DESIGN, CREATED FOR INTENSIVE AND CONTINUOUS PERFORMANCE.

1. BALANCE TANK
An external container connected to the Hydrospa. It collects the water which overflows as people get into the tub and maintains the level of the water at the edges. From the balance tank, the water passes through filters for cleaning, then returns to the Hydrospa through the recirculation system.

FREEDOM OF CHOICE
There is a choice of various potential configurations: For the outer finishes. For the filter system. For the heating system. This offers a response to many different installation, operation and maintenance requirements and makes it possible to fully customise your own product.

2. SPA-PACK
Technical assembly, installed separately from the Hydrospa. The basic HU version (2a) only includes the two whirlpool pumps and the control panel, while for the other configurations (2.b, 2.c) it includes the filter system (cartridge or sand) and heating system (with heater or heat exchanger), the two whirlpool pumps, the recirculation pump and the filter/timer control panel. The Spa-Pack offers several advantages such as the option of installation at a distance from the Hydrospa, easy access to the systems, simple maintenance, silence and straightforward operation (thanks to the pre-set filtration cycles).

CUSTOMISED SYSTEM
Teuco also offers a basic version supplied with a Spa-Pack, which includes the two whirlpool pumps and the control panel for a customised system, as dictated by specific regulations or by the presence of existing systems. This should be set up by a reliable technician.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS
The High Performance Hydrospa is available in different built-in versions. The underwater light and the insulating cover are included, while the steel handrail and the magnetic headrests a Teuco exclusive are optional.

FILTRATION
There are two systems used to filter water; you can select your preferred option when you purchase the product. Cartridge filtration Utilises the high filtering power of paper. Water passes through the pores in the paper, filtering out even the slightest impurities; filter maintenance requires regular checking and rinsing with water. When it is not being used, the filter may be removed and stored in a dry place.

Sand filtration The filter uses the natural attributes of sand to trap impurities and is contained in a vessel made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic, guaranteeing higher resistance. It requires counter-current washing using approximately 200 litres of water and a special outlet. This cleaning method does not take long and does not require any direct intervention on the filter itself.

HEATING
There are two systems used to heat the water; you can select your preferred option when you purchase the product. Heater An electric coil, activated through a temperature sensor in the Hydrospa, brings the water to the desired temperature. It is easy to install and maintain. The automatic disinfection system for Teuco Hydrospas: _ Continuously monitors the quality of the water. _ Automatically produces and administers disinfecting substances.

SYSTEM COMPOSITION
Teuco has developed a chlorine generation system utilising principles previously tested on large swimming pools, precisely adjusted for application to small volumes of water. The system consists of: _ Electronic control unit. _ 2 sensors which measure the chlorine and pH levels. _ pH corrector distribution pump. Supplied: _ Chlorine and pH tester. _ pH corrector package. The kit is fully integrated into the Spa-Pack and can be used in conjunction with all the Teuco Spa-Packs currently available, except the HU version which does not contain filtration systems.

TEUCO DISINFECTION IS NATURAL

Teuco automatic disinfection is based on one of the most frequently-occurring chemical processes in the natural environment, namely the electrolytic transformation of salt into chlorine.

ADVANTAGES OF TEUCO AUTOMATIC DISINFECTION

1. Simplified management, no more checking _ There is no longer any need to check the water in the TeucoHydrospa (chlorine, pH) frequently, because monitoring takes place automatically. _ There is no need for any substances other than salt and the pH corrector. 2. Operating safety and a natural feeling The following are just a few of the advantages offered by Teuco disinfection: _ Complete and constant hygiene is always guaranteed. _ There is no need to come into contact with chlorine or other irritants, given that the disinfecting substance is generated from salt water. _ There is a considerable reduction in the smell of chlorine, because only the amount necessary for the disinfection process is created. _ The natural aspect of the salt-based disinfection process and greater compatibility with skin (the spa tub has a salt content which is similar to that found in the human body). 3. Maximum efficiency When it comes to the disinfection of water, chlorine has been one of the most effective substances used to date. The Teuco automatic disinfection system offers all the safety of disinfectant, without any of the unpleasant aspects. 4. Greater protection of components The components used in the TeucoHydrospa are now protected from corrosion, thanks to the continuous monitoring of the chemical parameters (chlorine and pH) and the precise sizing of the system, and therefore last longer.

This setting eliminates the main problem of manual treatment: the high concentration of chlorine when the substance is placed in the water, followed by difficulty in maintaining a suitable level. With the Teuco solution, however: _ The chlorine sensor activates the chlorine creation process only if the level falls below the lower pre-set limit. _ The pH sensor monitors the pH value of the water; if it is too high, it activates a small pump which adds the corrector solution in order to restore the ideal value. Everything is automatic, producing a simpler and more natural result.

A FEW SIMPLE GUIDELINES FOR PERFECT WATER

The disinfection system of a Teuco Hydrospa requires only that the owner: _ Pours cooking salt into the water contained in the tub at a concentration of approximately 4:1000, as soon as it is filled. _ Every time the water is changed, adds approximately 100 grams of salt for every 100 litres of water replaced. This system will also provide notification that more salt should be added if the quantity already in the tub is not sufficient to begin creating chlorine. _ Check for the presence of pH corrector (added automatically by the system). The first time the product is reactivated after it has been shut down for the winter, contact a Teuco technician to make sure that the sensors are calibrated correctly.

A PROPERLY-SIZED SYSTEM
The whirlpool system is versatile in terms of power, and always suited to the size of tub. TeucoHydrospas may be fitted with one or two whirlpool pumps, which operate at single or double speed. Furthermore, electronic control guarantees optimised operation, which in turn results in rationalised energy consumption.

HARMONIOUS COMBINATION OF JETS

There is more to a good whirlpool than simply mixing air bubbles with water. It takes the mastery of a well-being expert to position the different types of jet strategically and find the right power and flow rate combination.

JETS WITH ADJUSTABLE DIRECTION AND INTENSITY

By adjusting the amount of air in the stream and varying the direction of the jets, you can enjoy the caress of a babbling brook or the torrential force of a mountain waterfall.

INDEPENDENT FILTRATION SYSTEM

This consists of a number of elements working in synergy: the skimmer, through which impurities are drawn from the surface into the system, an ozonator (standard feature), which distributes ozone through the water circulated by the pumps, and the two kits used in regular water treatment and optimum pH value restoration. Forced filtration cycles may also be programmed at intervals of between 1 and 24 hours, using a button on the electronic control panel. Mirror 620 and Mirror 630, created for intensive and continuous use, are equipped with an even more powerful filtration system (11m3/h), which is available in two different configurations depending on the operating intensity of the TeucoHydrospa: either with a cartridge filter or a sand filter (both are included in a separate Spa-Pack). In TeucoHydrospa Mirror models, the skimmer has been replaced by the overflow edge, which captures the water spilling out of the TeucoHydrospa as people get in, channelling it to the balance tank and guaranteeing significantly improved water quality.

9 7. | 8. ELECTRONIC CONTROL PANELS A system offering sophistication and simple operation in equal measure allows you to keep a check on all TeucoHydrospa functions. The buttons on the main panel control the whirlpool jets, air jet, underwater light, clock, water temperature and filtration cycles. The activated functions and their settings can be monitored continuously via the display. There is also a secondary panel, so that the main Hydrospa functions can be switched on or off from any part of the pool. 9. 1. WHAT IS THE TEUCOHYDROSPA MADE OF?

The internal structure is made using steel, or it can incorporate a wooden load-bearing frame, depending on the model. The shell, on the other hand, is moulded from high quality methacrylate, an impact and scratch resistant material which guarantees a long-lasting sheen. It is treated to protect against germs, mould and bacteria. Similarly, the materials used for the panels (for non built-in versions) are treated to withstand outdoor conditions.

2. DOES INSTALLATION REQUIRE ANY SPECIAL BUILDING WORK?

Panelled versions of the TeucoHydrospa can be installed with no upheaval whatsoever: simply set the appliance down on a solid, flat surface, located not too far from a water tap. A normal garden hose can be used for filling purposes. With these minimal requirements, a TeucoHydrospa can be positioned practically anywhere you choose. In the case of built-in versions, simply prepare a pit to accommodate the tub and incorporate drainage channels at the bottom as indicated in the preinstallation data sheet for each particular model (this can also be found in the downloads section of the website www.teucohydrospa.it). For TeucoHydrospa Mirror models, in addition to the pit for the tub, it is necessary to create a sheltered space where the Spa-Pack and balance tank can be positioned. Channels must also be provided for plumbing and electrical connections between the TeucoHydrospa and the external technical elements. 3. HOW MUCH WATER IS NEEDED TO OPERATE THE WHIRLPOOL?

Unlike a normal whirlpool bathtub, which has to be filled every time the user decides to have a session and then emptied immediately afterwards, the TeucoHydrospa can remain filled permanently, as the water is filtered repeatedly and maintained at a selected temperature. Which means, in practice, that the beneficial whirlpool massage offered by the TeucoHydrospa uses less water. The amount of water required will vary according to the model and the number of occupants.

5. HOW DOES THE WATER STAY CLEAN?

The water in the TeucoHydrospa is kept clean through the combined action of several elements: The skimmer, where supplied, captures the impurities which collect on the surface of the water and draws them into the filtration system. The skimmer is used in conjunction with a cartridge filter which offers filtering action through the pores in paper. The filtration system is constantly active; it is also possible to programme forced filtration cycles at intervals of between 1 and 24 hours, using a button on the electronic control panel.To ensure maximum hygiene in an appliance fitted with an ozonator, water pumped through the recirculation system will be enriched with ozone before being returned to the tub (ozone has a high disinfecting power). The benefit of all these devices is that the TeucoHydrospa will always be ready to use: you will be able to slip in whenever you please, without waiting for the pool to fill. Pools in the Mirror range, designed for intensive use, require an even more effective cleaning system. The water to be filtered is collected by the overflow edge and channelled to the balance tank. Before it is released back into the TeucoHydrospa, the water is filtered using either a cartridge or sand. This system guarantees a filtering power of 11 m/h. In any case, every Teuco product comes with two different kits for manual water treatment and surface cleaning, using either oxygen or chlorine. The oxygen-based disinfection method is ideal for domestic use, i.e. when the TeucoHydrospa is used by a limited number of people for short periods of time, as the active oxygen creates naturally crystalline water which is less likely to cause skin irritation, does not smell unpleasant and does not alter the pH level of the water. The chlorine-based kit is, on the other hand, more suitable for intensively-used TeucoHydrospas which are used by a large number of people for long periods of time, and is recommended for Hydrospas fitted with a sand filter as it works well in conjunction with anti-algae agents.

4. HOW DO I HEAT THE WATER?

When you choose your TeucoHydrospa, you can opt for a version with an electric heater or a version with a heat exchanger. The electric heater is a device which heats the water to the selected temperature and which is activated every time the tub sensor detects a drop in the temperature of the water. The Economy function is activated from the control panel, and can be used to rationalise the power consumption of the heater. The heat exchanger connects the TeucoHydrospa to an external heat source (household boiler, solar panels, etc...) which transfers heat to the water in the tub. This system uses slightly less electricity and the water will be heated to the selected temperature more quickly, although the initial outlay is increased by the cost of the connection to the boiler. Whichever heating system you choose, the water in your TeucoHydrospa will be maintained at a set temperature, so you can hop in and enjoy a whirlpool session whenever you like. The water will retain its heat too, thanks to the efficient insulation system adopted by Teuco, and to the insulating canvas cover supplied as standard.

6. IS THE TEUCOHYDROSPA SAFE?

A FEW THINGS TO BEAR IN MIND...

ACCESSIBILITY OF THE SITE

The site selected for the TeucoHydrospa must be readily accessible, with sufficient room for handling procedures. When choosing a model, make a note of the dimensions and add on a little extra for the packaging, then check these measurements against the size of your intended installation site and the corresponding access routes.

PLUMBING
Make sure that the site selected for the TeucoHydrospa can be reached with an ordinary garden hose and, if installed indoors, that a connection can be made to the main drain for emptying purposes. In this instance, Teuco must remind you that there are statutory regulations governing the disposal of water treated with chemicals.

SITE VENTILATION
If the TeucoHydrospa is going to be installed indoors in an enclosed space, either make sure there is sufficient natural ventilation or, if this is not the case, provide suitable forced ventilation in order to prevent the formation of damp and condensation.

ELECTRICITY
Check the maximum power consumption of the model, as indicated in the technical specifications, and make sure it is covered by your electricity supply contract.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM TEUCO: OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE ADVICE

FLOOR LOAD
The slab or structure on which the TeucoHydrospa will stand must have a load-bearing capacity as indicated in the preinstallation data sheet published for the product. If you choose a built-in version, a pit will be needed to accommodate the concealed part, prepared as per the dimensions indicated in the drawing and with space on all four sides providing access to the systems. Gulleys and a drain outlet must also be created at the bottom of the pit so that water produced by condensation cannot collect and stagnate. Preinstallation data sheets can be found in the download section of the website www.teucohydrospa.it, or obtained from your Teuco stockist.

The pool is fitted with systems which make it possible for the appliance to be used in summer and winter alike. To prevent the systems from freezing, the TeucoHydrospa, when filled, must always be connected to the electricity supply so that the anti-freeze system can be activated if the water temperature falls below 5C. If you do not wish to use the TeucoHydrospa in winter, it should be completely emptied.
