Conclusion
In the beginning of UMTS true sharing of radio
resources (DSCH) cannot be provided due to the lack
of support from the mobiles

Nortel "always on" feature allows the operator to:


Optimise the use of radio resources in the cell
Provide early push services to its subscribers

In the future shared radio resource management will


enable to increase the number of users per cell for
packet services
