Overview of the SNAP Paper

Time allotted Total no. of questions Total Marks Marking Scheme Sections Number of choices Negative Marking 2 Hrs. 150 180 Different for different sections 4 4 1/4 96+ : can expect a call from SIBM & SCMHRD 85 - 95: can expect a call from SIIB, SIOM, SITM (Range is higher because of profile based calls) 70 - 84: can expect a call from SIMC, SCIT, SIMS, SIG, SIHM, SICSR (Range is higher because of profile based calls) In some of the Symbiosis institute overall profile (academic performance, work experience, extra co-circular activities etc.) Is seen rather than only SNAP score. So for some of the Symbiosis institute SNAP score is not the only criterion for interview calls. So all the SNAP aspirants if they think they have a good profile but low SNAP score it is advisable for them to apply.

SECTIONAL -ANALYSIS
SECTION I: General English
Evaluation: The verbal section had a few changes in comparison last years verbal section. This time only one RC (based on History and Archeology) was there, comprising five questions, instead of six RCs in last years paper. The RC was easy with all questions doable. This year also paper was dominated by grammar and vocabulary based questions. The grammar based questions tested students on fundamentals of grammar for example there were questions in which test taker was asked to identify the parts of speech, types of sentences etc. There were sentence rearrangement, sentence completion and vocabulary based analogy questions also. Overall this section was easy to moderate. Comfortable Attempt: 26 to 30 questions in about 30 minutes. Achievable Score: 18 + was an achievable score.
