Pastor Larry Bradford from Winchester, Tennessee called Brother Ford in Nicaragua at 7:30
Sunday evening, June 28th, to report that his church would either SPONSOR or FIND
SPONSORS for ALL our 7th grade students. WOW!!! That’s 37 children at $925 a month!
What a “LABOR OF LOVE” Decherd Christian Center is bestowing on our 7th grade
children! We are awed at the FAITH and COURAGE of this tiny congregation (less than 30
members) who DARED to take on such a CHALLENGE.
Below is a picture we took today of our 7th graders getting ready for PE. Our visitors are
always amazed at how neat and clean these children look when they come to school. Even
though some of them may have only one or two changes of nice clothes, when they come to
school they always look their best. It is difficult to imagine that many of these children are
living in poverty conditions, with dirt floors and no running water or electricity.
These children are thrilled to have the opportunity to attend a school like MTC. New Hope
has raised the bar of excellence of education here in Nicaragua and they have stepped up to
the challenge to give it their best shot.
We can’t help but wonder... is there another Decherd Christian Center... just waiting in the
dugout, ready to also accept the challenge... of helping New Hope change the destiny of
many more precious children here in Nicaragua???
