CPL Superintendant Surestream, Muanda D.R.C Joint venture project (Surestream and Glencore) one well exploration drilling project onshore Muanda D.R.C. The project is the first in the location in recent times, there is little or no infrastructure or experience to benefit the project, (trucks, crane, front end loaders not locally available, Banana Port unable to cope with majority of vessels) resulted in the planning of the project requiring radical thinking. The service companies and suppliers to the project are not in Country- nearest location for these services are in neighbouring R.O.C. (Pointe Noire). The planning phase completed, drill site received all equipment, European sourced Crane, mobilisation of mud and cement materials, casings, camp and Rig completed on time. Expected 35 day well completed on schedule, supervised demobilisation completed 14th Jan 2011.


Feb 2008Jan 2010:

Preparation of tender documentation for all equipment, materials and services for 1 well drilling programme. Set up and management of the CPL Management System associated with the ordering, purchasing, transportation, inspection, storage, disposal and return of equipment, materials and services required in support of the Surestream work programme. Maintaining project cycle records, both hard copy and electronic copy, of all equipment, materials and services purchased or rented in support of Surestream work programme. Supervised the mobilisation/demobilisation of all equipment, materials and services Contracts (MSAs) negotiations, consultation with Government Employment officers to apply local Governmental requirements to comply with Company standards. Establish Drill site/supply base in Vuadu, DRC. Invoice approvals throughout project.

CPL Superintendant RSPOC, Khartoum, Sudan Joint venture project (Sudapet, Petronas and C.N.O.P.C.)two well HPHT exploration drilling project offshore Red Sea. The project is the first in the location offshore for 30 years, there is no infrastructure or experience to benefit the project, this combined with the U.S. sanctions levied on Sudan has made the planning of the project unusual and challenging. The service companies and suppliers to the project have had therefore to be sourced worldwide from non

standard industry leaders due not only to the impact of the sanctions but the ongoing security concerns in the Country. The planning phase completed, Port Sudan Supply base set up and functioning servicing the two supply boats supporting the Jack up rig. Relocated to Supply base as Supply Base Manager. Received all equipment in 30 day period and supplied Rig for duration of drilling programme.

Set up and management of the CPL Management System associated with the ordering, purchasing, transportation, inspection, storage, disposal and return of equipment, materials and services required in support of the RSPOC work programmes Maintaining project cycle records, both hard copy and electronic copy, of all equipment, materials and services purchased or rented in support of RSPOC work programmes Timely mobilisation of all equipment, materials and services Recruitment of Local staff covering a wide range of skills, preparation of Job Descriptions, introduction of induction and training courses, compiling of work terms and conditions (contracts) consultation with Government Employment officers to apply local Governmental requirements to Company standards. Establish supply base in Port Sudan, comprising: Open and covered storage facilities, warehouses, Company offices. Secure Casing/Pipe yard. Secure dedicated quayside for safe docking of supply vessels. Secure land for cement and Mud plant operation. Identify Stevedore supply, crane and forklift rental companies to service project. Worked as Supply Base Manager, accepting all equipment and materials, supervising waste disposal (general and O.B.M.) supervised vessel loading, local crew loading supervision, manifest compilation, overseeing customs clearance in storage yard.

Dec 2006Jan 2008:

CPL Superintendent White Nile Ltd, Nairobi, Kenya. First oilfield project for White Nile Limited in Southern Sudan. The project was remotely handled from the Kenya office with the rig site was in Jalle, Southern Sudan via JWE Limited. Southern Sudan is subject to U.S. Sanctions, and has many security issues to contend with. The Country is suffering after the long running war with the North and local tribal skirmishes are a common occurrence. The programme required the locating, mobilization and demobilisation of the rig and equipment from various locations (Romania, Dubai etc.) and then transport all by sea freight to Mombasa (Kenya) then by road transport through Kenya, Uganda,

Southern Sudan to the rig site, through the many customs and border control points encountered in these countries. The remote and isolated area of Jalle required stand alone rig and camp to be established imported converted containers assembled in Uganda were commissioned and transported, entire sanitary systems were transported and installed, bore water wells drilled and the rig site pad raised by 3 meters to avoid flooding from the rising Nile waters some 100 meters distant. The majority of transportation of staff and supplies were by air by a chartered fixed wing company, a helicopter was stationed to provide emergency medivac service, Paramedics were stationed and a new clinic was constructed for White Nile employees and local tribes to utilise. 250 Southern Sudanese armed forces were housed in a separate camp nearby to provide security to the project. This project was ready to spud on the agreed date and successfully reached Total depth as instructed.
