MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 13-15; Colossians 3 Monday, September 30 Neh. 9:20 Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. Holy Father: How common is my sin of forgetting the Holy Ghost! Give me thy good spirit, and make even me a powerful preacher and persuasive proponent of the cross. For it is only your good Spirit that can break granite hearts. HE IS GOOD ESSENTIALLY, because his essence is Holy, Holy, Holy. I need him now, because he is unmixed purity and truth and grace. HE IS GOOD BENEVOLENTLY, because he bears my waywardness tenderly. He strives with all rebellious wills; that is why I know I can trust him to make a way for the gospel to others today. Good Spirit, quicken ________ and ________ from their death in trespasses and sins. Then let me disciple them and train them for service. How generous, forgiving, and tender this good Spirit is! HE IS GOOD OPERATIVELY; all his works are good. All your providences are good to me, even the roughest. You suggest good thoughts and ways of escape from temptation. You prompt good actions and reveal good truths. You apply good promises and assist me in good accomplishments. You lead me into the best result always, and there is no spiritual good in all the world of which you are not the author and sustainer. Heaven itself wears your perfect character. HE IS GOOD OFFICIALLY, as Comforter and Quickener, Instructor and Intercessor, Guide and Sanctifier. Everything you do leads me to the highest good. I yield to your influence today. Help me be more aware of your movements. Good Spirit, give me impulses and motivation to do good. I need your power, and I wait on it now in prayer. Help me seek your aid and never grieve you today. Do it for Jesus whom you seek to glorify in me. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 22-24; 1Thessalonians 2 Thursday, October 3 1 Cor. 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 16-18; Colossians 4 Tuesday, October 1 Mark 1:32-35 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. And all the city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Holy Lord and Healing Master: You prayed before you did any great thing. It was your custom and habit, and so let it be mine. The context says this special supplication followed an evening of miracles. Fresh from the wonderful successes of Saturday night, you went on Sunday morning to open the gates of the day and the week with uplifted hands in prayer. That proves Lord, that when I see you are with me in blessing, I should be more concerned than ever to keep myself up with you! When the blessing has really come to our church, or to meand souls are being saved then I should double my cries to heaven so your merciful presence is sustained. Lord, let nothing stop the momentum of grace! Please Sir, help us go from strength to strength, and keep Christ high and lifted up! To see you operate this way shows you to be as supremely human as you were certainly divine. It must have excited you to arouse the hills with your praises, startle the glens with your groans, and put a tongue into every bush and underbrush with your strong crying and tears. You would go nowhere till you had prayed; you would attempt nothing till you had prayed. Let me do the same. Let my heart be to the heart of Christ as the echo is to the voice that calls. Make my intercession echo your will for revival! Let me pray like Jesus todayin my rising up, in my going out, in my lonely place; there I pray. I praise you for the miraculous blessings of the year thus far. Glorify yourself even greater! Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 25-27; 1Thessalonians 3 Friday, October 4 John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. O Gracious Lord and Master: You bathed us once-for-all in the sin-removing flow of Christs blood. You washed us in the waters of regeneration. But now wash us as to our feet in our daily prayer and devotion. Oh, for daily cleansing! Do you see any fault in us? We know you do. Wash us so we can be clean. Are we deficient in any aspect of your image? Supply it so we can exhibit more perfect character to the glory of the One who made us new in Jesus. Maybe we do have something good, but yet it is carried to extremes. Modify it so no one single virtue murders another. You washed the disciples feet of old; still be very patient toward us. Our faults surely provoke you, but go on with us we pray, until your great work is completed and we are like Christ! We want to conquer self in every aspectas a body as well as individuals. Make us content with what you give us. Grant us gratitude for all you do. Let us live for the glory of God, and exist for the good of others. Enable us especially to overcome the flesh with all its affections and lusts. May our bodies be kept under, subject to the higher spiritual priority of your mission. Let no appetite of any kind prevail against any one of us, lest Christ be dishonored and our church be unclean. Do not even let the most refined attributes of the natural man come so far forward they mar the dominion of the Spirit of God in our midst. Keep our candlestick burning! Help us not be so easily moved, even by pain. Give us much more patience. Do not let us fear. Give your Holy Spirit true mastery over our lives, our hopes, our homes, and our plans. Grant it for Jesus sake and glory. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 19-21; 1Thessalonians 1 Wednesday, October 2 2 Cor. 1:7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. Lord of All Power and Might: Your merciful ears are always open to my humble prayers, and so I thank you. Through your comforting Spirit, help me ask those things that will please you, so then I get my requests. You declare your mighty power best in showing mercy and pity. Grant me such a measure of your grace that as I run in the way of your will, I obtain your promises, accomplish your mission, and am made a partaker of your heavenly treasure. Give me grace that I may glorify you with revival. You are always more ready to hear than I am to pray, and your tendency is to give me more than I either desire or deserve. Pour down on me the abundance of your mercy in revival, Lord! Forgive me those things my conscience fears, and give me those things I am not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, your Son and my Lord. It is only by your grace-gift that I can do true and acceptable service for you. Enable me to so faithfully serve you today I do not fail to attain your heavenly promises. Give me an increase in faith, hope, and charity, so I can gain that which your word says I should have. Make me love what you command and hate what you forbid. Guard and keep everyone in our church today from sin by your perpetual mercy, because our frailty without you cannot but fail. Preserve me from all things hurtful by your help, and lead me into all things profitable for spiritual growth. Let your continual pity cleanse and defend me. We cannot continue in blessing without your sustenance! Preserve me by your help and goodness, for so I ask it to Jesus Christs glory and your eternal praise. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 28-30; 1Thessalonians 4 Saturday, October 5 Psa. 71:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. O Gracious Lord: You deserve my confidence, so I want you to have it all. Every day, help me guard against any distrust of you or any reliance on myself. Every hour I need to place my faith in your faithfulness. Not only must I rest and rely on you like a person stands on a rock; I must also trust in you like a person hides in a cave. And my trust will be made more solid the more intimate I am with you. I may be weak, but I am in a strong place! My security rests in the strength of the tower in which I hide, and not in any other man or woman. My weakness does not work against me as long as it makes me lean more fully on you. The drawbridge is up and the bars are in place, and there is a secret door by which I can enter into your throne as often as I want, because I can always pray. You are as accessible as you are strong on my behalf! Psa. 71:3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Are you a strong refuge? You are MY strong refuge. You are MY rock, MY fortress, MY God (v 4), MY hope, MY trust (v 5), MY praise (v 6). If I am strong, it is in you. If I am safe, it is because you shelter me. If I am calm and at peace, it is because my soul has found its resting place of security in you. Psa. 71:14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. When I cannot rejoice in what I have, I will look forward to what will be mine, and rejoice in the future blessing. Though Hell itself stands in my way, Psa. 71:16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

NOTHING between my soul and my Savior,

Naught of this worlds delusive dream; I have renounced all sinful pleasure; Jesus is mine, theres nothing between. Nothing between, like worldly pleasure; Habits of life, though harmless they seem Must not my heart from Him ever sever; He is my all, theres nothing between. Nothing between, like pride or station; Self or friends shall not intervene; Though it may cost me much tribulation, I am resolved, theres nothing between. Nothing between, een many hard trials, Though the whole world against me convene; Watching with prayer and much self denial, Ill triumph at last, theres nothing between. Charles A. Tindley, 1905

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Ladies Blueprint Study Mentors Fellowship Lunch 12:45P.M. Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
