HYMN OF PRAISE/UNISON SCRIPTURE

So were not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. Theres far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we cant see now will last forever.

Raise The Roof

Then I said to them, You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace. . . . They replied, Let us start rebuilding. So they began this good work. Nehemiah 2:17-18 NIV In order to make our Raise the Roof Campaign as successful as possible, it is important that as many Trinitarians as possible Opt-In to the campaign, making sure they receive relevant updates throughout the campaign. You can opt-in to the campaign at any of the Raise the Roof tables, in the Narthex and Atrium, following service. In the materials you receive you will find more information on Raise the Roof, as well as a pledge card and envelope. Once you have made your pledge decision, complete the card and return it to Trinity UCC Accounting (remember to take advantage of Automatic Giving/ ACS to be sure your pledges are consistently applied). You can also contribute to our Raise the Roof campaign by offering your time and talents. During the course of the campaign there will be many opportunities to serve in various aspects of the campaign. Please sign up to volunteer at the Raise the Roof tables throughout the church. As of September 17th, your Raise the Roof campaign has secured pledges of $1,574,265 from 275 members/families, or over 31% of our goal of $5 million. GREAT JOB!

CLERGY AND LEADERS IN SOUL AND OUR PARTNERS IN FAIR ECONOMY ILLINOIS COALITION
Invite you to attend a Press Conference And provide testimony on why corporations should pay Their fair share in income

Friday, September 27, 2013 Michael A. Bilandic Building 160 N. LaSalle St., C-600, 6th Fl. Buses will depart from Trinity UCC at 8:15 a.m. and return by 12:00 p.m.
Each year, millions of dollars are cut at the state level, resulting in the closing of schools, health care facilities, and human service programs. Many of these cuts result in the loss of good paying jobs and disproportionately harm the working class and communities of color. On Friday, September 27, at 10:00 a.m., the Illinois House Revenue Committee will hold a public hearing on House Bill 3627, which would require publicly traded Illinois corporations to make public what, if any, corporate income taxes they pay to the state of Illinois. To reserve your seat on the bus, stop by our registration table following all worship services. For information, Call Rev. Rochelle Michael, 773-966-1549.
