DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS

The name of the business will be Sonnys Pastry Paradise Corner.AnnaKay Owen and I (Allison Hyman) will be managing the business; therefore the business will be operating as a partnership. The business makes and produces a wide variety of cakes, cookies, pastries, beverages, and ice-creams. The business will see to it that good hospitality, a clean surrounding and tasty treats are given to the customers. The business opening hours will be on Mondays to Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The business main objective to make profit and to satisfy our customers need.

JUSTIFICATION OF LOCATION

The business will be located at 42 Street, 5th Avenue at Warnord Rd, which is a city area. This is a good area for our business because it is close by our customers, it has no competition and the raw materials the business needs to make its products is not from the business needs to make its products is not far from the business.

SELECTION OF APPROPRIATE LABOUR

There is a range of about 70 workers within the business and they are categorized into three groups. Unskilled, skilled and semi-skilled. Unskilled persons are those such as the janitors. They clean tables, counters or sweep floors, and clean up spills as they happen. The business must be very clean to pass health department inspections. Skilled workers include cake bakers, who are specialists in the preparation and the presentation of cakes, amarketing professional helps in defining the business objectives and creates advertising promotions that attracts customers into the store, a manager is needed to help speed up the process, reduce costs and boost productivity in the workers, maintenance workers fix ovens or mixers that will frequently need repair, front-of-house otherwise known as the counter workers are the business first line of support to the customers, acting as the face of the operation. The semi-skilled persons include the delivery persons. The business will be mainly delivering products to local customers so therefore delivery workers are needed. These types of labour are important to the business for with it the business will make progress.

FIXED CAPITAL

Fixed capital is capital goods, as machinery and tools that are relatively durable and can be used repeatedly in the production of goods. The fixed capital that will be used in the business

ROLES OF THE ENTREPREUR

An entrepreneur is one who manages or operates a business. His/ Her role is to lead the business with quality characteristics such as being a risk taker, having creative skills and be able to solve problems that may arise. The four main functions of the entrepreneur: To create products and services that fulfill a need or solve a problem and to create jobs and wealth. The realization of opportunity. The consolidation of resources. The implementation and creation of venture. The business is mainly carried out by two of these functions. The consolidation of the resources is the bringing together all the necessary resources of finance, land, equipment and managerial skills and the implementation and creation of venture is the starting of the business after the resources are brought together. These are very important to the business.

TYPE OF PRODUCTION

The business will be engaging in a tertiary production. That is the services that the business provides to consumers and to the manufacturers. If goods are produced then they must go through various services.
