As Costa Concordia Righted by Salvage Experts, a Balinese Former Crewmember Waits for His Life to Get Back on an Even Keel While the world watched the righting and refloating of the Costa Concordia in Italy this past week, the news coverage must have been especially bittersweet for a 32-yearold Balinese man, Nyoman Juniartha. When the Costa Concordia sank on January 14, 2012, Juniartha was numberd among the casualties. A member of the ship's crew, Nyoman fell 12-meters as the ship capsized. Hospitalized for six months the young Balinese man spent 6-months in Italian hospitals in Siene, and later in Rome. I ask the people of Bali to care for this road well in order to increase the public welfare of the people of Bali. Speaking also at the inauguration, Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika declared the new roadway as the most beautiful toll road in the world. The couple were originally schedule to marry in February 2012, one month after the ship's tragic grounding. Since his homecoming, Nyoman Juniartha has also managed to move from his parent's simple home in Sanur to a new, more spacious house purchased on Jalan Sedap Malam in Denpasar where he spends his days in a wheelchair accompanied by his ever-faithful Nengah Pariani. www.balidiscovery.com

In the capsizing, Nyoman Juniartha suffered numerous injuries that included a broken backbone and a severed nerve that has left him confined to a wheelchair with no feeling below his waist. As reported by NusaBali, since his return to Bali in the middle of last year, Juniartha has visited a number of doctors and medical centers seeking a miracle medical treatment that would somehow restore the full use of his legs. Disheartened by a lack of progress, Nyoman has recently Pastika said that from its inception the toll way built over Benoa Bay was constructed in line with the concept of being strong, green and beautiful. BALI THE RIGHT WAY

G'day again folks and welcome to the Grand Final 2013 edition of the Kuta Weekly, with most pubs, clubs and bars getting those extra few crates on ice early, ready for Saturdays clash. It was great to see the Dockers get so far up in the rank and take a spot for the chance to get the first flag for the club. They haven't been this close in their history and have a great chance at a premiership win, however the Hawks can be a tricky side to beat, with a damn sight more finals experience. If Saturdays game after the tipsters wind up is anything to judge a winner on then the tote would have to be about even. Let's see how Ferrets Hawks go with Freo firing on all cylinders. Go Freo I say.

Just touching back on the Kuta Town Houses tipsters wind up party, I think I speak for everyone in saying that the Crayfish and prawns would have to be about the best quality anyone has seen in Bali at a wind up party in a very long time. It's a credit to the powers that be for putting on such a massive spread. I have been asked to pass on a big thank you to all tipsters for making the day a great one and a big congratulations goes out to Mr Phil and Mr Andrew who won even first place and as is tradition BOTH whacked a million on the bar for all to consume (Well Done Hollywood) Ok folks with the Grand final this weekend I thought I might remind you about our great sponsors that are holding different events for the weekend with the first being of course the home of AFL in Bali, The Kuta Townhouses. These guys as usual have the staff and the facilities for anyone to enjoy a great day, with the pools and open areas to lounge around in and probably one of the best pub grub menus in Kuta its sure to be packed so get in early. The next one on the list is Moo Moo's bar and grill with their 200 inch screen along with heaps of teles dotted around the place which makes watching the game that much better. I did hear a whisper that the beers are going to be 10k for a time during the day. They have a great name for steaks and are arguably one o the best places to eat in Kuta if you like steak. There is tonnes of comfy seating and will rock on into the night with entertainment planned for the after party. One of the better places for the family to go as Moo Moo's have a dedicated and secure kids area with Play stations and teles and lots of activities to keep the billy lids busy while the adults watch the game. Another good pick is Bamboo Bar and Grill, who won't get away without a mention, as sitting up at the bar and enjoying the game is too easy there with that huge fan keeping the place at a nice temperature all day. These guys are auctioning a few very rare cricket bats to help raise some much needed coin for little Komang before and after the game, so get down and throw a proxy bid on or get in there and throw a bid on the day. Well done Bamboo. Crusoe's on Legian Street can't go without a plug as they have been in the game for a while and have a few great surprises happening., along with a rather respectable television system, also Blue Skyz bar on Legian Street isn't too bad if you're looking to sit and enjoy the clash in a great bar environment. For those of us that can't be bothered getting in the traffic and live or are keen to check out the Jimbaran Nusa Dua area, Meads Beach Bar & Grill has to be the number one shot. The screens are about everywhere and the beer is always cold. Great food, service and comfy big arse padded stools with seating for about 200 people. So there you go folks, if there isn't anywhere you can find that suits you I suggest you get on a plane and fly to Melbourne and attend the game live. I hope you all get in and grab a few drinks at one of our sponsors as without them there is no Kuta Weekly. Thanks to the lot of you for the support. Ok folks I'll let you go about your week in paradise, and do hope that the Dockers get up and belt those Hawks on Saturday. I hope the most of you stay safe, happy healthy and try to remember, Waste your money and you're only out of money, but waste your time and you've lost a part of your life. Enjoy your week, ALIASJ.

PROPERTY OWNERSHIP IN INDONESIA

As a foreigner, there is a number of ways that can lead to you owning your dream property in Bali.
The best option for you will depend on your personal situation, the type of property, risk factors and the type of investment model. Even though it states in Indonesian law that foreigners are not allowed to hold a 'freehold' land title, there are ways that have been in practice for a number of years that enable foreigners to control a freehold title indirectly or to hold a leasehold title in their own name. Indonesia, or a foreign legal entity with a representative office in Indonesia such as foreign Banks, embassies, etc.

Change of Directions on Bali Roads

Many U-turn Points along Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai Closed to Ease Traffic Flows During APEC
In order to reduce traffic congestion on the runup to the APEC Conference, police will close a large number of U-turn points along Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai, beginning from To h p a t i i n E a s t Denpasar to the southernmost end of the road in Nusa Dua. Police have also said they will be increasing the height of the median divide on the road in selected areas in order to deter illegal crossings and U-turns. The Director of Traffic at the Bali Police Headquarters, Commissioner Benone Jesaia Louhenapessy, who also serves as the chairman of the Public Transport and Road Forum for Bali said, This is the result of an agreement reached after a survey was conducted by the Public Transport and Road Forum. The traffic jams along this road results from too many U-turn points where vehicles stop and wait for a chance to reverse direction. NOMINEE SYSTEM FOR HAK MILIK

This structure is a regularly practiced procedure in Indonesia, whereby the foreigner nominates and Indonesian representative to acquire the land and to hold the 'freehold' title (Hak Milik) on behalf of the foreigner. Ownership of the land is transferred from the previous owner to the Indonesian nominee. The foreigner and the Indonesian nominee then sign an agreement which recognizes the Indonesian nominee as the legal owner of the property whilst declaring the foreigner as the rightful owner of the property. This agreement denotes that the Indonesian nominee will carry out any directives from the foreigner regarding the land. This agreement must always be concluded in the presence of a public notary.

RIGHT OF USE (HAK PAKAI)

This is the right of use over state-owned (crown land) or property owned by public or private persons/entities for a specific purpose for (generally) a finite period and occasionally for an indefinite period. This land right may not be sold, exchanged or transferred unless explicitly state in an agreement. Hak pakai may be held by and Indonesian individual or entity. Or foreigner permanently domiciled in

small fry. He warned that this course of action by the police would do nothing to change the very poor image of the police. The anti-corruption movement in the regency of Tabanan is also looking hopefully to the change of command in the Bali police in order to clear the backlog of longneglected cases. That was the hope expressed by the coordinator of the Movement for Public Morality (GMT), Ketut Semadha Putra. Semadha called on Bali's new chief of police to be more proactive in solving a number of corruption cases, including suspicions of subterfuge surrounding plans for the reclamation of Benoa Bay; the pier project at Gunaksa in Klungkung; and irregularities in the construction of housing for government employees in Tabanan. Semadha also cited the case of land acquisition for the Nyitdah International Hospital project. Semadha added: With the new chief of police, we hope for stronger law enforcement against corruption. Let there be an end to the reluctance to take action. www.balidiscovery.com

that the police force in Bali must find the courage to change their corrupt image. He said this could be achieved by being bolder in handling unsolved major cases. Regardless of the details and those involved in any corruption case, the police must be proactive in their enforcement in order to restore public faith in the Bali police. Making his point, Adnyana added: It's like the case in Klungkung for the pier at Gunaksa. There were indications of corruptions since 2007. Only after the prosecutors took charge in 2013 did the Bali Police Headquarters rush to begin to investigate the case. Confusion resulted. This was also confirmed by Made Raja who told The Bali Post how the police only called him to give a statement in the Gunaksa case after prosecutors had begun busily investigating the matter. Made Raja said the police in Bali must be more aggressive and intensive in handling cases, particularly large-scale corruption cases. Raja added that police were merely trying to achieve a targeted number of cases by selectively pursuing only smaller cases involving village chiefs, subak heads and other

The Ostrich A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The man says, "A hamburger, fries and a coke," and turns to the ostrich, "What's yours?" "I'll have the same," says the ostrich. A short time later the waitress returns with the order. "That will be $9.40 please." The man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment. The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, "A hamburger, fries and a coke." The ostrich says, "I'll have the same." Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change. This becomes routine until the two enter again. "The usual?" asks the waitress. "No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad," says the man. "Same," says the ostrich. Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, "That will be $32.62." Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. "Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?" "Well," says the man, "several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there." "That's brilliant!" says the waitress. "Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!" "That's right..Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there," says the man. The waitress asks, "What's with the ostrich?" The man sighs, pauses and answers, "My second wish was for a tall chick with a big ass and long legs who agrees with everything I say..."

Bali Police Asked to Improve Poor Image by Pursuing HighProfile Corruption Cases
The Bali Post cites that corruptions is on the increase in Bali, calling for the recent appointment of Brigadier General Julius Benny Mokalu as the Island's new Chief of Police to provide an impetus to improve the image of the Bali police by bringing a new aggressiveness to the style in which criminal corruption cases are handled. The Bali Post declared that a new commitment must be found to improve the current image of the police as the most corrupt agency of the government. The chairman of the NGO National Committee to the Rescue of National Assets (Komnas PAN) in Klungkung, Made Raka Adnyana, said,

Human Fly comes into the light

With seats on flights to Melbourne at a premium for this week's Grand Final perhaps Dockers fans have to emulate the Human Fly to get to Melbourne?
Arguably one of the most spectacular aircraft stunts ever was performed by Canadian Rick Rojatt dressed up as comic book super hero the Human Fly. In the early 1970s Rojatt teamed with famous US pilot Clay Lacy to ride atop a four-engine Douglas DC-8. The stunt was performed several times at speeds of up to of the most experienced pilots of the modern era and flew the DC8 as low as 200ft in a high speed pass that thrilled crowds. Very few pictures exist of the event and until recently no video was available. However Clay Lacy Aviation has recently released a 23-minute video of the event. Clay Lacy Aviation is arguably the world's leading producer of air-to-air video and still photography with cameras specially developed by Lacy to fit into corporate jet chase planes.

Man lost $12,000 while riding motorcycle

A N e w J e r s e y commercial fisherman who saved nearly $12,000 in cash for an engagement ring lost it when it fluttered from his backpack while he was riding a motorcycle.
Matthew Camp, 32, said the sad tale could have a happy ending. A highway cleanup crew on the Garden State Parkway has found $4,000 of the cash and now another person has stepped forward to say he found another $5,300 and wants to return it. Camp said he lost the money after cashing a $12,000 check earned during a good scallop run on his boat, the F.V. Nancy Elizabeth out of Cape May, New Jersey.

Camp stuffed the money into a backpack, which had a broken zipper, and planned to ask long-time girlfriend Tabitha Bohn to marry him. He rode his motorcycle to the dock and, while changing into work clothes, discovered the cash was missing, Bohn said. "It was heartbreaking," said Bohn, who with Camp has

Ritually, Balinese have a special ceremony to beg any prosperity for vegetations so they can always provide their crops for mankind.
The ceremony is called Tumpek Wariga or Tumpek Pengatag will be held on Saturday September 28th, 2013. Tumpek Wariga or devoted to Sanghyang Sangkara, Lord of all food plants when blessing ceremony is given to them for good crops and products, held at every plantation and farm throughout the island. Tumpek Wariga is celebrated every 210 days or 6 months of the Balinese calendar. It's a right time to beg the God to give His grace so the vegetation can provide a lot of crops. Tumpek Wariga is also called Tumpek Bubuh, because the offerings contain bubuh (porridge) such as bubuh s u m s u m (porridge made using refined flour). In committing the ceremony, the b u b u h i s smeared on the tree bark as a symbol of fertilizer s (the proper f o o d f o r vegetation). T h e offering is dedicated to all plants that help human life, such as salak, coconuts, mangoes, d u r i a n , b a n a n a s , rambutan etc. Not just by presenting an offering, plants a r e a l s o decorated with clothes and special decoration made from coconut leaf. The Tumpak Wariga celebration is also a time for expressing human gratitude to plants. Plants are seen as human relatives, as they are also part of God's family. It is people's duty to protect plants; moreover Balinese believe that prosperity and comfort will come around whenever the vegetation is protected and conserved. So for that reasons, the Balinese have to make special offerings for plants.

Powerball prizes have been getting larger, in part because the ticket price rose to $2 from $1 in January, and because California, the most populous U.S. state, joined in April. Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Chances of winning the big prize are 1 in 175 million, the lottery said. The largest Powerball jackpot was $590.5 million, won by a Florida woman in May. Ticket holders in New Jersey and Minnesota shared a $448 million jackpot in August. The amounts paid to the winners were substantially smaller because they chose cash over an annuity.

Dear Martha,

Ask Martha

My current boyfriend and I are happy; extremely happy, ridiculously happy BUT we have very different sex drives. While I'd like to have it just about every day, he isn't into it as much as me. He's reassured me that I'm beautiful, and I turn him on, but in the bedroom he just doesn't seem to get into it like me. Even though I'm young, I've been having sex for about seven years now and my previous boyfriend and I were EXTREMELY compatible (it was the only way we were compatible). His ex and him very rarely had sex and when they did, he wasn't very enthused. (His words, not mine). I love my boyfriend and can see a very long and good future ahead of us but I just want him to open up behind closed doors. Hoping it's not me. Dear Hoping it's not me, I'm sure you want lots of hot steamy sex. But mostly, you want him to want you. You think because he doesn't or because he's just as happy reading a book, it means there's something wrong with you dear. Truth be told, there might be. There may be something so scary and sexually repugnant about you he just can't face sex. Sound likely? No, didn't think so. So my guess is it's not he's not into you but he's just not that into sex and you're taking the whole thing personally. Of course you wouldn't be the first. Differing sex drives can be a massive problem in a relationship. It can be the cause of very serious and long-lasting resentment. When one partner wants it a lot and the other not very much at all, it creates an imbalance. The one who wants it always feels they are begging for their needs to be met and the one who doesn't, always feels guilty they are withholding. For you the biggest issue seems to be how to rationalise his lack of interest in sex. One of the special things about being in a relationship is feeling your partner wants you, in all possibly ways. When you start to feel they don't, you start to feel neglected and rejected. Eventually some people look elsewhere for someone who can make them feel special You say, hoping it is not me, because understandably you gauge your boyfriend's level of sexual interest in you as a sign of his interest overall. In the end you may just need to accept this is never going to be like the sex you had with your old partner but in some other ways it might be better. Less of it sure, but more loving and more emotional. Martha

Newcastle Knights beat Melbourne Storm 18-16 to advance to NRL preliminary final
Newcastle halted Melbourne's premiership defence with an 18-16 victory in their semi-final at AAMI Park on Saturday evening.
The Knights led 18-4 early in the second term and had to withstand a spirited Storm fight-back, with the hosts scoring two unanswered tries through Sisa Waga and Jesse Bromwich. T h e visitors held on to a two-point lead for 13 minutes before booking a preliminary final berth against Sydney Roosters next Saturday. The win extends Danny Buderus' career by at least one more week and the veteran Knights hooker could not have been be happier with the victory over the Storm. "It's exciting, I just don't know what's coming up around the corner," Buderus said. "You go into a game thinking it's your last but your also having a hell of a ride with a great bunch of guys, who are having a dig for each other." The Knights scraped into the top eight in seventh place but under seven-time premiership coach Wayne Bennett they look worthy contenders. They repeatedly upset the The Test custodian tried to catch a routine Jarrod Mullen bomb above his head AFL-style, but spilt it with Matt Hilder scooping it up to dive across the line just two minutes into the term. Waqa could not finish the match after suffering a knee injury late in the half. The Knights had two tries disallowed midway through the second by the video referee, the momentum all their way until the Storm fight-back. The home side were not helped losing Jordan McLean with a broken jaw late in the first half after a head clash with Alex McKinnon. Sebastian Vettel took a huge step towards his fourth straight world title Monday (AEST) with a consummate victory in Singapore that left his rivals fighting for scraps but again prompted boos from the crowd.
The German, starting from pole, fought off Nico Rosberg on the first bend and despite a safety car intervention, he was untouchable as he took his third win in a row and a hat-trick of wins in Singapore. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso finished second to keep up the title pressure on Vettel, who now leads the championship by 60 points from the Spaniard with six races remaining. Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen braved back pain to finish third but there was disaster for Mark Webber, whose late charge ended in a blown engine and a ride back to the pits on the wing of Alonso's Ferrari. Paul Di Resta ploughed his Force India into a wall but crucially, there was no safety car and in the aftermath Webber slipped past Perez and then Button to move into fourth. It was building to a titanic finish until smoke started pouring from Webber's engine and he eventually abandoned his Red Bull to hitch a ride with Alonso - the stunt earning both drivers a formal reprimand. Mercedes pair Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton claimed fourth and fifth, Ferrari's Felipe Massa was sixth and McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Sergio Perez occupied seventh and eighth. But yet again the race belonged to Vettel, who was literally streets ahead of his rivals on the spot-lit Marina Bay circuit through the highways of downtown Singapore. However, some sections of

string out, it was all about Vettel as he hared off in front in customary fashion, establishing a seven-second lead by lap seven. As the cars behind him garaged for medium tyres, Vettel strung out his lead to 36 seconds and he was able to pit on lap 17 and still maintain an eight-second lead over Rosberg. Di Resta nipped in behind Rosberg for third place during the pits shake-up, frustrating Alonso, who was unable to pass and challenge for second. By lap 25 of the 61, Vettel was nearly 11 seconds ahead when Australian Daniel Ricciardo, heading to Red Bull next year, ploughed into the barriers at turn 18 and totalled his Toro Rosso. The safety car roared out, erasing Vettel's lead, but when it disappeared five laps later, it was deja vu as the German shot out to a 3.2second lead on the first trip round the circuit. Vettel showed sheer class again as he scorched to the race's fastest lap and then powered out to a 12-second lead by lap 35. Vettel had stretched his lead to more than 20 seconds by circuit number 39, before coming in for his second and final tyre-change a few laps later. He emerged comfortably ahead of Alonso and with 10 laps to go, the lead was pushed to more than 10 seconds as Vettel zeroed in on his seventh win of the season. The real battles were in his rear-view mirror, as Webber squeezed up inside Nico Hulkenberg to take sixth and Raikkonen pulled off a peach of a move outside Button for third. VA Venezuelan state agency ordered the temporary takeover of a factory that produces toilet paper in what it called an effort to ensure consistent supplies after embarrassing shortages earlier this year.
Critics of President Nicolas Maduro say the nagging shortages of products ranging from bathroom tissue to milk are a sign his socialist government's rigid price and currency controls are failing. They have also used the situation to poke fun at his administration on social media networks. Jamie Lyon a certain starter for Manly against South Sydney despite broken leg fears
Having initially feared he had broken his leg, Manly captain Jamie Lyon declared himself a certain starter for Friday's NRL preliminary final against South Sydney.
Lyon looked in agony as he reeled out of a tackle in Friday night's semi-final win over Cronulla, the Sea Eagles centre clutching and then limping heavily on his left leg before seeing out the contest. With his leg packed in ice after the game he appeared in serious doubt to face the Rabbitohs, but the skipper said he would be there at the Olympic stadium insisting the injured leg would not prevent him from training. "They (the scans) were fine, just had a bit of a bang on it and there was a bit of bruising but it's a good result and there'll be no doubt this week," Lyon said at the Sea Eagles recovery session at North Narrabeen beach on Monday. "I'll be out there playing, so concern for the Sea Eagles, and while he admitted Brett Stewart was no certainly to return from a hamstring strain, the veteran centre was confident Anthony Watmough (knee) would be fit to play. Stewart has not played since round 25, and was touch and go before being ruled out at the last minute against the Sharks. The Sea Eagles have lacked some fluency in their attack without their star full-back. "Brett's probably the biggest (injury concern) there," Lyon said. "... he's obviously got to get through a few fitness tests and a few team sessions. "Hopefully he's right, he's a big part of our team and he adds another dimension. Even though Peta Hiku's done a great job (at full-back), Brett's been around for a while and he's very valuable for us."

it's good. "I'll probably have a normal week, take it easy. I'll have a run tomorrow. It's settling down better each day so I'll be fine." Lyon admitted he feared the worst when the injury occurred, his leg caught under the weight of a pair of defenders. "I thought it was bad, I thought I'd broken my leg at the start," Lyon said. "I was probably carrying on a bit out there but it was good news and it settled down after a little while." Lyon is not the only

Melbourne Storm sign Sea Eagles prop George Rose for 2014 NRL season
Manly prop George Rose will head to Melbourne next season after signing a oneyear deal with the club.
Rose - who is off contract at season's end - had not been offered an extension by the Sea Eagles, who face South Sydney in a preliminary final on Friday night. The 2011 premiershipwinning front rower will link up with the Storm after this year's grand final on October 6. "We are really delighted George has signed with the club, he will add great depth to our forward pack," Storm director of football Frank Ponissi said in a Rose started his career with Sydney Roosters in 2002, playing just six games before switching to Manly three years later. He overcame a badly broken leg that sidelined him for 18 months in 2007 to become the club's player of the year in 2009. The 30-year-old has since played 124 games for the Sea Eagles. His signing comes on the back of the Storm's shock 18-16 loss to Newcastle on Saturday, knocking the defending champions out of the 2013 finals race.

New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has a problem and it sounds more like one for which it might issue a citation than find in its own backyard.
The department said that its new $316 million headquarters in the borough of Queens has been infested with bed bugs. Inspectors have "found a group of bed bugs living in one area of one floor of our department's Long Island City building," the Health Department said in a statement. "We have already taken steps to address the problem, including conducting additional

extensive and expensive fumigation to completely get rid of them. "Employees were given copies of the department's own bed bug information pamphlet and told to declutter their desks and put their belongings in plastic bags," Bed bugs were common throughout most of the 20th century, but were believed to have been all but eradicated from the United States by 1995. But they have made a dramatic resurgence. More than 13,000 bedbug complaints were registered with the city in fiscal year 2011, according to a spokesman for the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Hawthorn speedster Brad Hill is meant to be the cheeky one of the family, but it is his brother Stephen who has started the mind games leading into Saturday's AFL grand final at the MCG. Stephen and Brad will become the first brothers to face off against each other in a VFL/AFL grand final since Essendon's Alan and South Melbourne's Vic Belcher squared off in the 1912 decider. One of the most memorable moments of last year's grand final came when Sydney flyer Lewis Jetta outsprinted Hawthorn speedster Cyril Rioli in a foot race. Stephen cheekily suggests he will do the same to Brad this year. "If I've got a chance I'll try to burn him off. I think I've got him covered," Stephen said with a laugh. "Mum's really proud and happy and really looking forward to this week. "I think she might have a bit of Hawthorn and Freo colours on. "She'll be supporting both of us. I'm looking forward to it." Stephen, 23, has established himself as a key cog in Fremantle's midfield over the past five years, with his dashing pace, poise around goal and pin-point kicking making him a star of the competition. Brad, who was drafted by Hawthorn with pick number 33 in the 2011 national draft, has enjoyed a breakout season in which he's played 23 games and kicked 17 goals. The 20-year-old West Australian is not afraid to give a bit of lip on the field either. In contrast, Stephen is one of the shyest players at Fremantle, and normally prefers to let his actions do the talking. "He is a bit more cheeky and outgoing. He loves to get into it a little bit," Stephen said of his younger brother. "It wouldn't surprise me if he has a few words to say (to me on Saturday). "I miss him a little bit. But he's really enjoying it over there in Melbourne and it's good seeing him play some good footy. "He's improved a lot over the last couple of years. He's worked on his football really hard and he's doing really well."

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon said it was a great story to see two brothers face off in such a big match. "Brad's been exceptional," Lyon told the Seven Network. "Some people didn't rate him in the draft but he's come in and taken his opportunity and really helped their run. "Stephen for us is a really important player. "But there will be the Yin and the Yang, won't there. There'll be one devastation and one ultimate joy for that family."

Wallabies clash with South Africa first Test in gruelling overseas tour
The Wallabies are embarking on one of the most gruelling stretches of overseas fixtures in their history, after leaving Australia on Monday for matches in South Africa, Argentina and New Zealand before the spring tour to Europe. Regular team members face the prospect of playing eight consecutive offshore Tests in the space of 10 weekends starting against South Africa in Cape Town next Sunday (AEST). The Wallabies, who have a 2-5 win-loss record this year, play their last two Rugby Championship matches against the Springboks and Pumas and have one weekend off before a Bledisloe Cup game in Dunedin. One free weekend is followed by Tests on five straight Saturdays on a spring tour schedule which includes matches against all the United Kingdom nations plus Italy. By the time of their final game against Wales on November 30, Australia will have slogged through 12 Tests in 15 weekends and that does not include the three intense battles with the Scans have cleared Newcastle K n i g h t s h a l f b a c k Ty r o n e Roberts of a serious knee injury and he is expected to play in the preliminary final against the Sydney Roosters. Roberts hyper-extended his knee in the weekend's win over Melbourne. Winger James McManus is hopeful of returning from an ankle injury after missing the game against the Storm. Knights utility Matt Hilder says the team will need to step it up a gear against the Roosters. "They're a real quality side they've been consistent all year," he said. "You just have to look at their team on paper and you can just see how good of a side they area. "Just the way that the season is laid out, at the moment, you can have recharges in between, but you are so quickly refocusing on the next game, that you can't really afford to be looking back too much. "You've got to be looking forward to the next contest and keep yourself moving. "But it's been a great ride for myself this year obviously. A lot of firsts for me and it's been a very rewarding year." Mowen felt the matches in South Africa and Argentina would allow Australia the chance to continue developing combinations under new coach Ewen McKenzie. "The more time this group has had together the better our performances have been on the training paddock and on the field," Mowen said. "I think this is going to be a really important period. The prospect of possibly getting two really huge wins on the road against two sides that play extremely well at home, I think, is an exciting challenge for the group."

No wonder the likes of recent stand-in skipper Ben Mowen barely has time to reflect on his rapid rise through the ranks over the past three months. The Brumbies captain and back-rower did not make his senior international debut until late June, but has started all of Australia's past seven Tests, leading the team in its last match against Argentina. "To be honest I try not to reflect at this stage, because I'd just like to hammer out the year and then I'm sure when it comes to Christmas time I'll get time to sit down and reflect," Mowen said before the Wallabies left for South Africa.

met Sonny Bill Williams put a shoulder charge on Knights forward Willie Mason and Fa'alogo says he is expecting another physical challenge. "It's a challenge that we love to come up against every week," he said. "Big forwards, we've got big forwards and we're looking to match them in that area and do well. "It's a team effort and each player is going out there to do their job. "We're quietly confident; we have expectation, we go in and put in the hard work and that's what it takes. If we come away with the victory then it comes down to backing each other up."
