The Valley Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the position of:
General Manager
CHALLENGE: Coordinate all activities related to the operations of the Chamber of Commerce; Support the Board of Directors (and its sub-committees) in its efforts to promote and defend the interests of its members; Manage the administration of the Chamber; In collaboration with the sub-committees, plan and manage the yearly program of activities of the Chamber; Ensure memberships renewals as well as recruitment of new members; Organize and be present at all meetings and networking events; Produce a monthly newsletter and update the Chambers new website as needed. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: - University degree or college diploma with a specialization in a relevant field of study (ex: administration, marketing, business development) or an acceptable combination of postsecondary education, training or related experience; - Training / experience in financial management and/or accounting; - Experience in the recruitment of new memberships or solicitation of new clients. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Have excellent communications skills, oral and written in both official languages; - Have excellent interpersonal skills; - Have good knowledge of various computer programs such as: (Word, Excel, Power Point and Simply Accounting) and e-mail. - Must have a drivers license and a car. The Chamber of commerces office is located at the Grand Falls Town Hall (131 Pleasant Street). The salary is negotiable depending on the training, experience and skills.
