I have chosen to use PowerPoint slides as teaching tools in the future.

There are several reasons that lead me to favor this particular way. First and foremost, I feel that teaching can be monotonous if teachers are lacked of creativity and acts as traditional method follower. Hence, students will feel bored in such environment. Therefore, I feel that to make teaching effective, teachers should include PowerPoint slides in their lessons as they are interactive. In addition, teaching is like facilitating someone by giving proper guidance. Hence, effective tools are needed to impart knowledge. Consequently, using PowerPoint slides to teach will eventually improve students performance. For instance, in PowerPoint slides, teachers can include main points and graphic visuals related to it. So, by looking at the slides, students can visualize the points stated and memorize the main points. On the other hand, I believe that learning is a cognitive process of acquiring knowledge. Hence, in order to learn a second language, students need to be drilled with various exercises and also make them memorize the rules in the language. In addition, students also need to be active in classroom so that the learning process will be effective. So, to make learning interesting, I believe that using PowerPoint slides will eventually draw students attention as various drilling practices can be given via PowerPoint slides. As there are several sources of teachers belief systems, I believe that ones own experience as language learners and experience of what works best are closely related to my own personal beliefs. There are several main factors that have influenced my belief system. As for me, I felt that using PowerPoint slides for learning during my time in secondary and tertiary level had triggered my attention towards learning. For instance, I felt that the points in PowerPoint slides were understandable, comprehensive and clear. In addition, during my part-time job as a teacher, in a primary school also made me realizing that students got excited when I used PowerPoint slides to teach them. Apart from that, according to several teachers in the school that I have worked, this technique of using slides to teach second language really works. Moreover, I tried using the method as suggested because they are experienced teachers, and it really worked as students did pay their attention to the lesson. In short, I strongly believe that PowerPoint slides is an effective teaching tool as it enables learners to focus, and it is user-friendly, interesting, effective and interactive tool.
