In my career so far I have had roles which have varied; as a teacher of English, as Coordinator of CAE exam classes; Teacher

trainer on a Masters programme; teaching writing skills to Polish high school teachers. All of which have been successful. The second of these roles required me to liaise with teachers and arrange mock tests and analyze results. I have learnt independence where in Poland I designed a full semester of speaking and writing with minimal resources. Through my roles as examiner of CAE, FCE, IELTS and now BEC I am accustomed to what requirements are necessary for exam courses and feel confident in my abilities to deliver to these needs. I feel that this background would inform greatly a role in which I could coordinate a Cambridge based course.

An imaginative and creative person; I have always strived to think of innovative ways to accommodate the diverse needs of the students. On pre-sessional courses I look to use multimedia to present something in a more unconventional but effective manner; powerpoint, videos, using platforms like Blackboard and Collaborate; the latter I used on a recent Foundation course. The main aim of Collaborate was to allow teachers to give online feedback on project via a Wiki. The platform; unfortunately, did not work for most of the course due to technical problems but I was one out two tutors who managed to find a way to get round the problems and give complete online feedback (other tutors were not successful). This is one of my strong points: determination and dedication to a task.

I have taken part in training days both at the University of Manchester and abroad in Portugal and Poland. I have led workshops in Poland on the use of music in class and also in Portugal on film. Given the responsibility I would love to take a more active role in leading these kinds of teacher-led development event. Staff development and giving peer reviews are areas on which I would like to concentrate in coming years as I feel I have a non-obtrusive and non-combative manner which would make me ideal for this kind of professional interaction with others.

Administration is a hugely important part of a teachers work. It is a technical aspect of our every day working life that must be taken seriously in order to make sure that things run smoothly. Fastidiousness is a trait that should underlie administration. This applies to aspects of course delivery such as adhering to course components. It is important to bring high levels of consistency to our work so that our co-workers can trust in our methods and students can rely on our ability to deliver to a course outline for which they have signed up. I endeavour to take care

to ensure these areas are of priority; as with the attendance of staff meetings; another area in which it is important to bring a mature and professional approach to taking part and giving full attention and constructive advice. I have always been flexible and responded to my students needs, if and when the occasion has arisen. I have brought to bear my knowledge of exam requirements to tailor lessons and materials to students more specific needs. In addition I have ensured that their learning is suitably evaluated and tested with appropriate feedback given individually. The students are our treasured guests and should be given the right advice and opportunity to have their worries heard. I have always been very attentive in this regard. At the same time they need a high level of independence to survive the rigors of academic life. I feel that I allow for both of these in my teaching methods and tutorials that we offer. Also contact with others who may come across this student; as a peer or teacher is vitally important so that channels of communication are always open to effectively manage the students needs.

I believe that I work well with others and contribute whole-heartedly to any task set before me. I continue to love the sector I work in. My ambition to develop my students language skills and vocabulary drive me on to better work for their cause. My interest in Cambridge exams signifies a dedication to improve myself as a teacher in this area, and also to reflect more closely the needs of my students. My work on Foundation, Matriculation, Insessional and Presessional courses show that I have become a more mature professional who wishes to succeed in all assignments given to him.
