My early fascination for Electrical and Electronics combined with a strong liking for analytical subjects and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology motivated me to seek admission into one of the best and most competitive Electronics and Communication Bachelors program. I have always believed that a subject is understood better when one actually sees an abstract theory being realized by a practical system. The various demanding laboratory courses and projects in the B.E program at Bhageerathi Bai Narayan Rao Maanay Institute of Technology (BNMIT) have provided me with a better understanding of Electronics.

I choose to pursue Masters (M.Sc.) in Computer and Communication Technology with an intense urge to delve into the challenging field. Right from my school days, I had a penchant towards Mathematics, Science and research in general. This inclination towards science was further increased by my active participation in science fair and seminars in my school days. This basic interest led me to take up Mathematics, Physics and Electronics as my major subjects in pre-university college. As a part of my hobby project, I had developed a robot using logic gates, transistors, simple latches using basic circuit elements and the project was programmed in C. I was so astounded by the Power of Electronics that I developed an interest in it to take Electronics and Communication Engineering into BNM Institute of Technology which ranks among the first five best colleges among the 208 engineering colleges in the state university of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) which is among the best universities in India.

During the course of my Bachelor’s program I was exposed to various domains like Analog Electronic Circuit, Computer Concepts, Programming in C and C++, Control Systems, Field Theory, Linear Integrated Circuits, Power Electronics, Analog and Digital Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Microprocessors, Micro Controllers, Optical Fiber Communication and Wireless Communication. I secured good results in my Bachelors and stood in the top 6% in the university of about 70,000 students in the state. Also, my interest in programming gradually increased which made me take up JAVA and J2EE course which was not a part of the academics.

At BNM Institute of Technology, I was a member of the BNMIT Electronics and Telecommunication Association (BETA), a prestigious technical student association which hosted technical lectures by eminent persons. The department is also recognized as a development centre for Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) design under the National Program for Micro and Smart Systems. I got a chance to interact with professors and attend many workshops where I got good experience and developed a keen interest in the field of Electronics and Communication.

As a follower of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) I have been continuously exposed to the latest technological developments in the society. Along with two of my colleagues I have submitted a paper on Recognition of numbers and position using image processing techniques for solving Sudoku Puzzlesand it has been published on the IEEExplore which was conducted by IEEE International Conference on Advances in Engineering, Science and Management (IEEE-ICAESM 2012) held at Nagapattinam, Chennai, India.

Sport has always been a part of my life ever since I started playing football and cricket from my childhood days. Football is my main interest, besides the fact I enjoy other sports such as badminton, basketball and chess.

Over the past four years in my Bachelors, I am convinced that the path has involved leveraging my current skills and abilities to make significant contributions to improve the understanding of systems and concepts in the field of Electronics and Communication. Five or six years from now, I wish to see myself as part of a leading research group, contributing myself to the field of Communication Technology and Computer Systems. A PhD in the same domain is therefore the natural first step towards this goal.

I am very much interested to pursue M.Sc. in Computer and Communication Technology in your esteemed college. I do realize the need for me to study at the centre stage of activity in these fields at your college in Germany. My strong desire to continue my future studies at your graduate school stems from that, it is one of the top colleges in Germany having a fine record of academic excellence and is backed by expert faculty and research facilities. The other reason why I want to study at your prestigious university is that it provides the kind of exposure needed to broaden my views and to bring out the skill that might be still prevalent in me.

The subject’s vast exposure in the fields like Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Embedded Systems, Optical, Wireless and Satellite communication and Source and Channel Coding has paved way for multimedia development and telecommunication which creates a huge opportunity for Research and Development of new technologies and products. In future, I want to pursue research in the Communication domain preferably on the Digital Signal Processing, Satellite Communication or Wireless Communication and later devote myself to work in the areas related to Industrial Research and Development.
