A special character is added at the beginning and at the end of the LOV value

ADAPT01444809

In Desktop Intelligence, if the selected part of the universe object contains a formula like initcap or concat, on using this object in the Query Filter, a special character is added at the begining and at the end of the LOV value. This is by-design.

In the Lifecycle Management application, when transporting a Crystal Reports-mapped document after changing the source, an issue can occur with the Crystal Reports connection ADAPT01513044

After successfully transporting a Crystal report from one system to another, when you change the source and the Crystal Reports connection, and try to transport the report again to another system, you may encounter one of the following issues: The following error message can appear: CR connection not available The Crystal Reports transport takes the previously mapped value instead of the new one. This problem occurs when you make changes to the Crystal Reports mapping for the report. The workaround is to apply your changes to the Crystal Reports mapping explicitly before transporting the report: 1. In Lifecycle Management (LCM), select the job to be promoted and choose "Promote". 2. In the "Promote" window, choose "Mappings". 3. Navigate to the Crystal Report Mappings tab and choose "Edit Crystal Report Properties". 4. If the changes you made to the source Crystal Reports connection details are not shown, make those changes again. 5. Choose "Apply". 6. Choose "Save". 7. Choose "Promote".

Lifecycle Management application rights appear under "Folder" in the "Add/remove rights" screen.

SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 and Crystal Reports 2008 - Service Pack 4 FixPack 4.2 Release Notes

ADAPT01522897

Sharepoint documents in Live Office

ADAPT01557920

Sharepoint documents can be viewed and edited in Live Office but must first be checked out of Sharepoint before opened in Live Office. This is due to a limitation in Excel.

Viewing publications in Internet Explorer

ADAPT01189622

When trying to view the objects of a publication with Internet Explorer versions 6, 7, or 8, some document types, such as log text files, may fail to be displayed. A blip sound occurs, the IE window flickers, and then closes. The sound heard is the Information Bar warning you about downloading a file. Typically, the solution is to right-click the yellow Information Bar at the top of the browser window and click to download the file. The problem is that the window closes before this can be done. This problem is caused by a bug in Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8, which causes the window to close when the Information Bar appears (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2000216). A temporary fix is to hold down the Ctrl key while double-clicking the file. To permanently fix the issue: 1. In the Internet Explorer menu, click Tools > Internet Options. 2. On the Security tab, click "Trusted Sites". 3. Click "Sites", add the InfoView/CMC host to your list of "Trusted Sites", and then close the window. 4. Click Custom level, and under Downloads, click "Automatic Prompting for File Downloads".

Whitelist of directories for scheduling files in SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise

ADAPT01486962

You can add a whitelist of command-line parameters to the Job Server to limit the locations to which files can be written through the Unmanaged Disk Destination plugin, with the following limitations: - The parameter must be followed by a list of absolute directory paths, delimited by semi-colons on Windows, delimited by colons on Unix. Delimiters will not be allowed as literals in the paths. - The whitelist filtering treats directory paths as literal, and so single-dot and double-dot characters ("." and "..") directory substitutions will not be performed. - Whitelist filtering is case-insensitive on Windows, and case-sensitive on Unix. - Any sub-directory of a path in the whitelist is a writeable destination. For example, you can restrict file output to C:\boe_output and "C:\User Data" by making the following specification: -whitelist "C:\boe_output;C: \User Data". Attempts by users to send or schedule to a different directory, such as "C:\Program Files", through the Unmanaged Disk Destination plugin will be prevented by the whitelist filtering. - Attempts to send or schedule to a sub-directory of a whitelisted path, such as C:\boe_output\subdir, will pass through the whitelist filtering. - Only ASCII characters are supported in the paths.

Alert icons on Dashboard scorecards from earlier versions of Xcelsius Designer

ADAPT01581614

Alert icons on a Dashboard scorecard fail to appear at design time while applying alerts to a scorecard from a previous version of Xcelsius Designer. The workaround is to open the model that was generated in a version of Xcelsius previous to Service Pack 4 before you migrate the model.

Some calculations not performed when Flash variables used

ADAPT01568213

When Flash variables are passed from a parent object to a child object that performs a calculation with the variable, the Flash variable may fail to be passed and the calculation will not be performed. The problem happens when the application domain in the SWF loader is set to this, but the problem is infrequent.

Xcelsius must be in default directory to be updated

ADAPT01580621

Service Pack 4.0 FixPack 1 will install only in the default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects \Xcelsius. Therefore, it will fail to overwrite an installation of Service Pack 4.0 that has been installed on a custom path. In that case, Xcelsius will fail to be upgraded to SP 4.1.

SAP Crystal Reports

In Crystal Reports, crosstabs have been realigned

ADAPT01566105

In Crystal Reports, if a crosstab cell has multiple horizontal fields and these fields have a border or shadow, the right edge did not align with the column title's right edge. The fields have been moved several pixels to the right, thus exactly aligning the fields with the column title. This affects the formatted crosstabs of existing report, even if you do not use summarized field labels.

Error when configuring Peoplesoft authentication in CMC on Websphere 7

ADAPT01582537

When you try to configure Peoplesoft authentication in the Central Management Console (CMC), an error message may appear. This problem happens on Websphere 7 (Solaris 10) on SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise. The problem is caused by a startup error in the Java Development Kit (JDK) version 1.6. The solution is to add a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) custom property to the WebSphere 7 application server instance. Go to Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine > Custom Properties, and add the following custom property: sun.lang.ClassLoader.allowArraySyntax=true.

Set Analysis now supports Hash partitioning on Oracle

ADAPT01541032

Set Analysis now supports Hash partitioning on Oracle. Checks are added to verify the type of partitioning being used. If hash partitioning is detected, the system will not provide special partitioning SQL as it does for Range partitioning because it is not required.

Voyager not accepting measure objects in a Workspace

ADAPT01584112

In Voyager, when you add measure objects into rows, columns or slice of the Workspace, an error message appears. This problem happens when the BPC ODBO Client is used for the Voyager connection. This problem will be fixed in a future Service Pack.

If Users have a default Locale set, it will only be applied after import if the Destination system has the corresponding language pack installed. ADAPT01507411

Description: Users who have owner rights and the view instance right to an object are unable to view the objects when they are denied the general view latest instance right on the object. New Behavior: This problem is resolved. The problem was caused by an earlier fix to problem (ADAPT01442232) with the view latest instance right. Previoulsy, users who were denied the view instance right, but were granted the view latest instance right were still able to view the object. By design, the "view instance" right (both the general and owner rights) is applied to the instance itself instead of its parent object. However, the "view latest instance" action is applied to the parent object. To fix this issue, the rights constraint can now be applied to the children of the target object. This was done through an SI_OPTIONS parameter that accepts a string. Currently, the code will only interpret a case-insensitive string value of "TARGET_CHILDREN_ATLEASTONE" to invoke the new behaviour. Note that when the new option is specified, the rights-check is applied to all of the object's children, and will only fail the check if all the children fail the check or if the object has no children. The option is specified for the general "view instance" right, but the owner right is respected. Note that document security is still maintained despite enablement of the "view latest instance" client action. A user cannot view an instance without the appropriate rights even if the client action is enabled. Note also that, with the exception of this particular fix for owner rights on an object, explicit rights on the instances still trump all other rights, including rights to the parent object.
