Mengin Cutter Pumps

The Product
The commitment of ETS MENGIN to developing innovative
solutions to pumping problems, resulted in the launch of the
PS range of MENGIN cutter pumps.
The design of the pump is based on a channelled impeller
with blades extended into a sharp edged spiral cone rotating
against a fixed adjustable knife with a hardened steel blade.
Fibrous waste and debris in suspension are chopped into
pumpable segments, allowing blockage free flow through the
pump.
The MENGIN PS series is a range of pumps available in six
different formats for use in wet or dry well installations.
Difficult pumping applications which are solved by utilising
a MENGIN cutter pump include unscreened raw sewage,
primary and secondary tank de-sludging and storm overflow
in the water and waste treatment industries... wood pulp in
the paper industry... animal hide and fleshings in the tannery
industry... vegetable waste in the food industry; as well as
many other sludges and slurries containing plastic bottles,
rags, bits of wood, etc... all successfully pumped with no risk
of blockage.
Incorporating 2, 4 or 6 pole electric motors rated from 3
to 125kW, the PS range of MENGIN cutter pump offers a
range of capacities from 2 to 500 litres/sec. against heads
up to a maximum of 70 metres. Flame proof motors are
available and pump bodies can be cast iron or stainless
steel whilst the cutting impeller can be strengthened by the
addition of tungsten carbide.

Specification
Applications
The design of the Mengin cutter pump
ensures that fibrous waste and debris in
suspension are chopped into pumpable
segments allowing blockage free flow
through the pump.

Cutter Mechanism
Mengin cutter pumps have a channelled
impeller with blades extended into a
sharp edged cutting cone which rotates
against a fixed, adjustable knife with a
hardened steel blade.

The unique solids cutting mechanism

makes the Mengin cutter pump suitable
for many difficult, heavy duty pumping
applications and guarantees substantial
reduction in maintenance time and costs.

3 phase motors.
10m length of cable is standard.
Protection class IP68.
Insulation class F.
Direct on Line or Star Delta Starting.
Winding - 400V.
Frequency - 50Hz.
Outside of cable sealed by
compressed grommet in cable entry
gland.
Pumps are delivered with free end of
cable fitted in a waterproof sleeve.
Dry well moors are efficiently
cooled by the pumped liquid
contained within a jacket, circulating
around the motor.
Motors with other voltages and
frequencies available on request.
