Playground Rules
There is a potential for disruptive behaviour to occur at playtime and lunchtime. Children do not always have the necessary innate ability to consider the implication of their actions on the well being and safety of others. Consequently procedures will be followed at playtime.

Rewards For Good Behaviour

At Olive Hill we believe that every child should be able to achieve recognition for being well behaved. Therefore several means of rewarding behaviour are as follows 1. Star of the Week (KS1 and 2) Each week each teacher selects a child who has made a particular effort in his/her work and/or behaviour. In assembly each teacher explains why they have made their choice and the pupil is given a badge. Their photograph is displayed in the school entrance and they are named in the school newsletter. 2. Playground Award (KS1) Stars are awarded to classes for lining up. The Class with greatest number of stars all in a week display a trophy in their classroom for the following week. A child is chosen from each class as a good example and rewarded with a House Point.

3. House Points The entire school is divided into four Houses - Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. Each week the totals of each phase are read out in assembly and the overall winning team stand up to be clapped.

We use a lot of stickers and praise to encourage the children to behave and work well
