To be eligible for enrollment in a pre-kindergarten class, a child must be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2009 and
meet one of the following criteria:
1. Unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
2. Educationally disadvantaged (Eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program.)
3. Homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 11302, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or
of the child’s guardian or other person having lawful control of the child.
4. Child of military: active, reserved, missing in action or who have died.
To register, parents need to bring an original birth certificate, Social Security card, current immunization record and two proofs
of residency (lease agreement or mortgage, utility bill with name and address, driver’s license), proof of income (two recent
pay stubs) and emergency phone numbers for home, family physician, dentist and three personal emergency contacts.
Pre-kindergarten classes begin Monday, August 31, 2009, one week later than classes for other C-FB ISD students.
Students must complete the eligibility process before they can enroll in pre-kindergarten. Parents whose children are eligible
should register at the school designated for their elementary school attendance area. For the 2009-2010 school year,
