The NFTE lost recognized status in 2004 and remained unrecognized for more than eight years un-
doubtedly this caused set back to the organization and resulting in non-settlement of major and core is-
sues of the employees. The fnancial health of the company also deteriorated. The facilities and benefts
which were secured in the past have been taken away by the management by one stroke of pen.
Today, situation is changed. The NFTE is recognized and ready to discharge its responsibilities to
safeguard the BSNL and the employees. In this scenario the National Executive meeting took place on

, September at Junagarh with great enthusiasm and fan fare. The meeting after serious delibera-
tions urged the Govt. to honor their past assurances and commitments to keep the BSNL fnancially viable.
The GOM must such decide the BSNL issues expeditiously before it is too late.
The present concerns and anxieties of employees are natural and cannot be ignored Bonus is denied
for last three years on the plea that the PSU is in loss. The 78.2% DA fxation beneft denied to employees
who were on roll between 1.1.2007 to 31.5.2013. It is illogical and an example to blatant discrimination.
The RMs and group `D employees are attaining stagnation in every up gradation under NEPP. A further
insult has been added to such staff as they could not get even one rupee beneft from 78.2% IDA
fxation. These employees are presently groaning and suffocating. Main reason for stagnation is
lesser span of the Pay Scale. The condition is dangerous and will not help in motivating the staff.
The employees entering in the PSU on 1.1.2007 or thereafter are facing wage erosion. The NEPP
needs not only modifcation but another look. The Recruitment Rules of JAO/JTO, TTA , TM and Raj Bha-
sha adhikari should be modifed in the changed scenario. The meeting deliberated on the problems at
length and decided programme of action to focus the attention of management for early settlement.
The meeting reviewed the organizational position also and has called upon all concerned to stand up
and make sustained efforts to strengthen the NFTE and make it a force to be reckoned with. It is must and
let there be no let up or excuse in this respect. Time is ripe to achieve the task.
