Present Perfect

Use the Present Perfect to talk about actions that happened at some point in the past. It does not matter when exactly they happened. I have already had a breakfast. He has been to England. Remember You should not use this tense with time expressions like yesterday, a week ago, last year, etc. I have seen it yesterday. x We have gone to Paris last year. x We also use this tense to when an activity has an effect on the present moment. He has nished his work. (so he can now rest) I have already eaten the dinner. (so I'm not hungry) He has had a car accident. (that's why he is in the hospital) The form of the present perfect simple tense:

Have (in the simple present) + Verb (in the past participle form)
Positive I have worked. NOTE: I have worked = I've worked He has worked = He's worked I have not = I haven't worked He has not = He hasnt worked Examples: 1. We have already had breakfast. 2. They have played football. 3. We haven't washed the car. 4. Have they nished their homework? 5. I have seen that movie twenty times. Negative I have not worked. Interrogative Have you worked? Examples: Have you nished the job? No, I haven't nished yet. Yes, I have already nished. She's just nished her job.

6. I think I have met him once before. 7. Someone has just taken my bag! 8. People have traveled to the Moon. 9. People have not traveled to Mars.
