LENNOX PRESCOD
Mr. Prescod is an accomplished pharmacist and has held several influential positions in pharmacy practice in both the public and private sectors. Most notably, heserved for years as the Director of the Barbados Drug Service, and is a Past President of the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists. He has been a short term consultant to many international organizations such as WHO, USAID and the Commonwealth Secretariat and regionallyfor PAHO to every Caribbean country. He has published extensively on issues relative to innovation in pharmacy practice and health and wellness issues. He is now a regional consultant and speaker in the area of incorporating wellness and disease-state management into community pharmacy practice. He is also a researcher and is currently working with colleagues at the UWI and Barbados Diabetes Foundation to develop models for measuring outcomes resulting from health and wellness initiatives. Prescod has a Bachelor and Masters degree in Pharmacy and Hospital Pharmacy Management from the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Long Island University, and a MBA from the University of Surrey. He is also certified in Drug Therapy Management and Patient Centered Diabetes Care with the AmericanPharmacists Association. He is licensed to practice pharmacy in Barbados and New York State. He is a Distinguished Alumnus of his Alma Mater and last year his name was inscribed on the Wall of Honour at the College as it celebrated its 125thanniversary. Over the last three years Prescod has developed a preventive health and wellness, patient-centric program that empowers members to take care of their health and medical conditions. During the last year he has developed Work-Place Wellness programs for a number of leading companies in Barbados in association with their insurance providers. These programs have led to significant improvements in members health and productivity. The program is supported by UWI and the Barbados Diabetes Foundation.
