ISSUE: How is a faulty printhead diagnosed? SOLUTION: Follow the steps below to diagnose a faulty printhead.
1. Turn the printer on and open the printhead access cover. See Figure

3. Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cable from either the
back of the printer or the power outlet. 4. Remove the printheads by pulling up on the blue plastic handle on each printhead. See Figure 2. Figure 2: Removing the printheads
5. Clean the copper contacts on the back of the printheads with a coffee
filter or clean, dry, lint-free cloth. The contacts are shown in red in Figure 3. 6. Clean the printhead contacts inside the printer using a coffee filter or clean, dry, lint-free cloth. See Figure 3. Figure 3: Contact area of printhead and socket
7. Latch the purple printhead cover and close all covers. There should
not be any printheads installed in the printer.
