EIBA In May 1990 15 founding members founded the EIB Association (EIBA). ( ) Objective: - Promote the EIB system y in the international market and in standardisation as the solution for home and building system engineering.
KONNEX ASSOCIATION Setup in 1999 by 9 companies Aim to promote 1 single standard (called KNX) Members > 100 leading companies worldwide representing p g 3 diff associations ( BCi, , EIBA & EHSA) )
What is KNX ?
Konnex Association promotes the KNX standard, standard a system for Home and Building Controls that: is is truly open (no royalties for Konnex members); guarantees multi-vendor and cross-discipline interoperability, ensured via y by y the KNX trademark. certification and symbolized supports many configuration methods (PC tools, device configurators and plug+play) and media (TP, PL, RF, Ethernet)
KNX technology: the world's first open, royalty-free and technology platform independent standard for home & building control has been approved the new series of European Norms (EN 50090) for home and building electronic systems systems. A norm with the strong potential to become a World (ISO) standard.
Advantages KNX/EIB
Increased safety gy during g the operation p of buildings g Economic use of energy Simple adaptation of electrical installation to the changing requirements of the user Higher degree of convenience Future-proof installations Wide range of available off-the-shelf components from many manufacturers L Large service i network t k of f qualified lifi d contractors/planners/integrators
> 15 million installed products > 6, 500 registered and certified products > 100 Konnex members > 90 training schools > 50, 000 implemented projects
