BENTONE 38

Premium hectorite based organoclay with broadest applicability. Highly resistant to incursion from contaminants. Extends practical temperature range by 50F 100F beyond bentonite clays. Hectorite organoclay optimized for synthetic base oil systems for bottom hole temperatures beyond the range of BENTONE 38. Combines exceptionally rapid dispersibility with high efficiency and low shear suspension characteristics. BENTONE 150 is particularly well suited for use in all-oil systems. Combines exceptionally rapid dispersibility with high efficiency and low shear suspension characteristics. BENTONE 155 is particularly well suited for use in invert emulsions. An ideal additive for mud plants having low shear mixing equipment. Specifically designed for vegetable oil base fluids. It yields without the need for polar activators. It is particularly effective in synthetic ester, vegetable and petroleum based oils. An easy dispersing, fast yielding viscosifier, which yields effectively at reduced shear. Minimizes development of progressive gels The original organoclay for oil based fluids. BENTONE 34 has been used in drilling fluids worldwide for over 40 years. BENTONE 905 is a cost effective organobentonite viscosifier for oil based invert drilling fluids. BENTONE 910 incorporates reliability and effectiveness into an economy viscosifier that has become a standard for the industry. BENTONE 920 is preferred in applications requiring a more robust economy viscosifier. It combines improved dispersibility with enhanced efficiency. BENTONE 990 is an amine treated attapulgite suspension additive that improves carrying capacity, suspension of oil based invert drilling fluid under HTHP conditions

Ester and Vegetable Oil All-Oil ECD Control Efficiency HTHP stability Clay Free Systems

Oil Based Drilling

THIXATROL DW Rheology Deep Water Drilling Fluids THIXATROL DW 50

Designed for deep water and low applications where ECD control is key. This synthetic polymer generates a very efficient flat rheological profile with respect to reduced temperatures. Constant LSRV can be generated from 40F through 250F. HSRV is reduced by as much as 35% at 40F, as compared to muds built with conventional RAs.

Polymeric

A second generation polymeric rheological additive for deep water drilling fluids. This polymer offers improved thermal stability to 350F, while maintaining ECD control, constant LSRV between 40F through 350F and 35% lower HSRV at 40F as compared to muds built with conventional RAs.

Suspension

EA-2525

A unique polymeric heat activated rheological additive designed to develop a high level of thixotropy in organic fluids. It functions in a variety of different solvents.

Rheology Leadership plus so much more

Elementis Specialties promotes a range of organo-modified smectite clays, high purity non-modified specialty clays and organic polymers for use in the oil field services industry. These materials serve primarily as rheological additives to thicken and suspend solids and other polymers. They are recognized, worldwide, under the BENTONE trademark that has been an essential element of the oilfield chemicals business since 1949. The product line includes bentonite and hectorite clay bases, both providing unique characteristics. High purity, beneficiated hectorite based rheological additives are unique to Elementis. Our mine in Hector, California, yields a white clay of unique chemistry and physical characteristics. The organoclays derived from this raw material, provide the leading performance rheological additives for the industry. They are highly effective and stable in a variety of difficult drilling conditions. Hectorite based organoclays are recognized by the industry as the most reliable organoclays for high temperature environments. Our line of BENTONE, bentonite based organoclays provides a wide range of choices from general purpose grades for non-critical applications to highly processed, uniquely modified products for special situations.

APPLICATION

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS Composition BENTONE MA thickens, forms gels and suspends solids in aqueous systems. It provides reproducible thixotropic viscosity and eliminates hard settling of solids more efficiently than Bentonite clays. Maintains suspension of sand and filler components at high water concentration without detracting from pumpability.
