The brain is like the boss of your body. Without it you can not live cause the brain controls everything.

Cerebrum The Cerebrum is the lagest part of your brain. It is 85% the organs weight and it controls your voluntary muscles. These ones are that move when you want them to. The Cerebrum is also the place where both your long term and short term memory are kept. It also help you reason like why you have to do your homework because its due tomorrow. The Cerebrum is also divided into two halves. The left part of it controls your right side and your right part controls your left side. The Cerebrum is the most important part of your brain, without it you cant move your body.

Cerebellum The Cerebellum is the second largest part of your brain. Its under the Cerebrum and it is about 1/8 size of the brain. It helps you to balance your body. The Cerebellum transmits information to the spinal cord and part of your brain. Without this you would not be able to stand, run and walk. Just like a surfer he need a Cerebellum to keep balance on his surf board. The Cerebellum might not be as big as the Cerebrum but its still just as important

Brain Stem The Brain Stem is under the Cerebrum and behind the Cerebellum. The Brain Stem helps you to stay alive by controling the basic life functions like heart rate, breathing and blood pressure. It also controls your involuntary muscles, the ones that move without you thinking of it. The Brain Stem also sends millions of message through your body. If your Brain Stem gets damage you cannot move Any part of your body. Its important to keep your Brain Stem safe so you can always control your body.

Pituitary Gland The Pituitary Gland is the size of a pea. It might be small but its very mighty. The Pituitary Gland controls the hormones in the blood Failing to control the hormones can cause disease or death. It also cotrols the amount of water and suger inside your body. The Pituitary Gland also keeps your metabolism going which also helps you to stay alive. This is one big job for something the size of a pea.

Hypothalamus The Hypothalamus is like your brains thermometer. It controls your temperature. The Hypothalamus will get you to sweat when you are hot cause sweating will cool you down. It will also get you to shiver when youre cold cause shivering warms your body. The Hypothalamus is like your brain air conditioner and a heater without this youll be too cold or too hot.

Interesting Facts An injury to one side can affect the oppisite sode of you body. Eating healthy food contain potassium and calcium which helps our brain.

The brain is the most important organ in your body you should take care of it to have a good life

Brain Stem: The brain stem sits beneath the cerebrum and in front of the cerebellum. It connects the rest of the brain to the spinal cord, which runs down your neck and back.

Pituitary Gland: The pituitary gland is very small, Its job is to produce and release hormones into your body.

Hormones: Hormones are your body's chemical messengers. They travel in your bloodstream to tissues or organs. They work slowly, over time, and affect many different processes. Hypothalamus: The hypothalamus is like your brain's inner thermostat that little box on the wall that controls the heat in your house.

Potassium: Potassium is a mineral that the body needs to work normally. It helps nerves and muscles communicate.
