Impellers
gas compressors
Five impeller types are available. Each type of impeller is optimised for a combination of characteristics:
The impeller type or combination of types selected is that best suited for the particular applications.
Impellers are mounted on the pinion shaft with a unique micro-spline connection which transmits torque between the impeller and pinion to ensure high reliability.
Lubrication System
Pressurised system is completely pre-assembled, factory flushed and tested. Modified on-base API 614 lube systems can be supplied.
Bearings
Double-acting tapered land bearings integral with outboard radial bearings ensure accurate alignment.
Rotor Assembly
Pinion shaft, high-speed gear and impeller are precisely matched and dynamically balanced after assembly.
AGMA Q-13 (DIN 5/6) helical gearing provides high mechanical efficiency, low noise and reliable operation.
Gearbox
Horizontally split gearbox provides easy access to gearing, bearings and seals without removing system piping. Standard gearbox is cast iron.
Optional adjustable inlet guide vanes provide wide operating range and excellent part-load performance. Combine with adjustable diffuser vanes to enhance off-design performance in a wide capacity control range.
Optional adjustable diffuser guide vanes provide excellent capacity control for medium to very high pressure applications Can be combined with adjustable inlet guide vanes for enhanced off design performance in a wide capacity control range.
Scope of supply
The Atlas Copco packaged centrifugal compressor is supplied complete with the following standard scope of supply: Horizontally split, cast iron integral gearbox with helical bull gear and high speed pinions.
Single stage to three-stage compressor with cast nodular iron, cast steel or stainless steel (as required by process) casings. High performance 17-4 PH stainless steel impellers with backward leaning vanes. Labyrinth or dry face shaft seal (as required by process) on each high speed pinion. Flexible disc type coupling with totally enclosed guard. Base for mounting compressor, driver, integral gear, control panel and lubrication system (oil reservoir is integral part of the base). Lubrication system consisting of:

Lube oil reservoir within base frame. Shaft driven main lube oil pump. Electric motor driven full size auxiliary oil pump. Dual element lube oil filters, 10 micron, with integral transfer valve. Suction strainer for each oil pump. Two (2) oil pressure relief valves. Oil reservoir breather. Single shell-and-tube oil cooler. Thermostatic mixing valve on oil side. Temperature controlled electric oil heater. Schedule 40, carbon steel piping with slip-on flanges. Instrumentation:
Shell and tube TEMA C process coolers (as required by process). Pressure transmitter at inlet and discharge of compressor. RTD at inlet and discharge of compressor. X vibration probe on impeller end of each high speed pinion. On-skid PLC based microprocessor for machine protection, start permissive, monitoring and control with "first out" feature in a NEMA 4 enclosure. Four hour mechanical run test with shop driver.
Standard submittal package consisting of five (5) sets of certified prints of compressor outline, foundation bolting, process schematic, seal schematic, lube oil schematic, wiring diagram and control
