Competition is open to all undergraduate students of engineering universities.

The poster theme/topic will be given on the spot and the theme will be different for each
individual.
Contestant will be allowed to complete the design in 1.5 hours (30 min for literature survey and 1
hour for designing).
Participants must be in the competition venue 15 minutes before the competition starts.
Participants can use Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher.
Each participant will be provided a workstation with the installed software.
Participants are prohibited to use CDs, USBs, and memory cards etc.
Participants are advised to constantly save their document in case of power interruption.
Winner will be announced at the closing ceremony of the event.
The result once announced is final and unchangeable.
Poster size will be 3141 having resolution of 300 DPI.

Introduction
Literature Review
Applications
High resolution logo of NED University must be included on the top left corner of the poster.
(Logo will be provided).
Poster should be submitted with raw file (psd or publisher) along with jpeg file.
Poster must contain name, department, university and year of the participant.

Image must be obtained through the use of a light optical/ electron microscope.
Image must not be digitally colored or modified.
Brief title and statement including material preparation must be submitted.
The original magnification and if enlarged, how much?
For OPTICAL Micrograph: The illumination mode can be Bright field, Dark field,
polarized light (reflected or transmitted), differential interference contrast, phase contrast,
or any combination.
Etchants used to reveal the microstructure, including the chemical formulation should
also be mentioned.

The entry should be uniformly illuminated and have a sharp, crisp detail.
Hard copy of 8 10 (200 250 mm) size color print.
Digital files must be atleast 3900 pixels 2700 pixels (13 9) at 300 DPI.
Registered participants can submit only one micrograph.
Original samples along with hard copies and soft copies (CD) must be submitted in an
envelope latest by 21
st
October, 2013.
