storm and security
Storm and cyclone resistance glass has been designed and tested to reduce the devastating effects of extreme winds and flying debris that impact upon people and buildings. Ordinary glass & window frames can fail under these extreme wind pressures and airborne projectiles. It must be noted that this glass may still break upon impact, but will prevent penetration of an object into the building. The glass should be an integral part of the framing system designed to prevent the frame and glass from blowing in or out when impacted. Security glazing can be broadly defined as products and systems designed to protect people and property. Security glazing in the case of criminal actions should be considered as just one component in the overall security system. Factors affecting which level of security glazing to choose include police response time, protection of people, protection of goods and the availability of other forms of secu rity such as alarms and electronic surveillance.
stormguard
Grade A laminated safety glass specifically designed for buildings in Australia or the South Pacific cyclone prone regions described by both AS/NZS1170.2 or wherever buildings require protection from strong winds and airborne debris. Available in thicknesses of 12.28mm 13.88mm laminated. This glass needs to be incorporated into a window frame capable of retaining the glass in positive and negative wind cycles.
stormshield
Incorporating a specially formulated polyacrylic laminate, StormShield is a Grade A safety glass designed to resist penetration from flying debris and excessive wind speeds. Available in a thicknesses 7.88, 9.88, 11.88 and 13.88mm. The glass should be an integral part of the framing system designed to prevent the frame and glass from blowing in or out when impacted.
storm shutters The cost associated with cyclone resistant glass may initially deter the building owner. Therefore, an option could be to use storm shutters. However, the use of storm shutters presents some new problems. First of all the area of the glazing may be too large or difficult for fixing of shutters (i.e. large commercial building) and may secondly detract from the appearance of the building. Thirdly, storm protection is reliant on people deploying the shutters in time. A cyclone may be eas ier to track and predict rather than a one off storm which may catch people by surprise, not giving them enough time to deploy shutters. Last of all, shutters must be periodically maintained to ensure they work when the time is needed. Cyclone resistant glass has the benefits of being ready at any time and not drasti cally altering the appearance of the building.

privacy glass
Patterned glass may be an option in toilets and bathrooms. However in fact, they just obscure the object in view and therefore are not the ideal form of privacy glass. Tinted glass and special ist products such as SuperGrey are very dark in appearance and offer varying degrees of pri vacy during daylight. However, like all glass including reflective glass, at night time, when levels of illumination inside are much higher than outside, the opposite will occur where an unobscured view in will be offered. Indeed, the best solution may lie in choosing a glass to suit your other intended glazing needs in combination with a blind or curtain.

switchable glass
Windows normally allow you to see as well as to be seen. However, sometimes it may be desirable to be shielded from prying eyes. Switchable glass offers you this privacy at the flick of a switch. The unique technology allows it to be switched from an ordinary looking clear glass to a translucent glass, ensuring optimal vision control. All it takes is a simple electrical switch, like turning the lights on. features and applications 0 Glass that allows any transition between clear and opaque in milliseconds with the flick of an electrical switch; 0 Improvement in user comfort and privacy; 0 Protection of interior furniture and other valuable items from UV damage; 0 Safety and security; 0 Architectural windows, skylights, interior partitions etc. 117
