What is the Process?

When a NSSED member district requests coaching/consultative services then the district will be asked to fill out the Coaching/Consult Brief and give it to the Coordinator for Professional Development and Coaching. The Coordinator for Professional Development and Coaching will then give it to a Lead Coach or other designated coach to review and follow-up. A Coaching/Consult Brief will then be set up and completed. Once the Coaching and Consulting Brief is completed then a designated District Services Coach (which may or may not be the coach that completed the Brief) will be provided to complete the request.

Technology is at the core of virtually every aspect of our daily lives and work and schools today must use modern technology to create learning environments that are engaging, relevant, personalized and prepare students for real life. Assistive technology, or AT, is anything that is used to remove barriers associated with a persons disability.

Coaching and consultation can target needs at the individual student, classroom, school, or district-levels. Our coaches approach each collaboration and consultation as a partnership. When coaches and staff interact together equally and as partners, the outcomes are maximized. These services are designed to support and compliment the instruction and services that students are receiving in their home schools and communities. The ultimate goal is to increase the capacity of the educators that are receiving the coaching to meet the academic and behavioral needs and improve the outcomes of ALL students.

Districts can enter into an annual contract for coaching services.

This package is intended to serve a school or a district service on a regular weekly basis, and represents a significant cost savings over the hourly service rate. Goals for service are identified and coaching services are customized to meet the districts goals. These services may include coaching, assessment, and workshops as described above. A half day contract represents 3.5 hours of weekly service and the full day represents 7.0 of weekly service which includes a combination of direct and indirect services. All district services costs includes time that a coach spends on site providing consultation (direct services) in addition to travel time, preparation, communication, and other activities that may improve the quality of the service provided (indirect services).
