A stunning display of outdoors the Nordic and new environmentally sound s olutions
The Kebony - Naturally Norway garden is the combined vision of designer Darren Saines and the revolutionary Norwegian wood company Kebony. The design of Kebony - Naturally Norway demonstrates how a garden can be used throughout the changing seasons and epitomises traditional outdoor living with a contemporary twist. A sleek central pavilion adapts to the seasons.
The water feature and the ing reflect the unique plant land scapes of Norway - from flora and fauna to fjords. All plant species are resistant to the diverse Nordic weather conditions. Sustainable alternatives to the traditional use of tropical and treated hardwoods are used for the decking and pavilion structure while energy derives from bioethanol burners. Even the boundary wall that replaces concrete is made from recycled wood.

The elements
Kebony wood is used as a sustainable alternative to tropi cal timber for the decking and pavilion struc ture and wooden details in the living cube. Kebony has developed a revolutionary technology that is environmentally friendly and uses
waste materials from sugarcane production to harden sustainable wood species such as pine and maple. Kebony is beautiful, durable and as stable as most tropical timbers, yet practically maintenance free. It can be used for decking, wooden piers, cladding, boat decks and much more.
The planted areas are defined by natural stone from Lundhs known as larvikitt, the Norwegian national stone. The stone is also a pplied to terraced areas and brings the kitchen area to life with its unique pearly faade. Numerous p restigious land mark build ings such as Harrods, Blooming dales in New York and the Burj-Al-
made of 80 % recycled wood - linked together like Lego. The inno vative three dimensional glass in the pavilion from Sharda Glass provides unusual lighting effects and allows playful and creative solutions where texture, images and colour can be incorporated into a range of architectural applications. Superb glass installation con-
ducted by Trombe Ltd. The garden and pavilion are lit by Intalite UK/If electric who have a diverse selection of stunning lights and the contemporary garden furniture has been provided by Go Modern. Styling by Annabel Stringer Interiors.
