(3) Day of Kindness/ Week of Generosity October 12 - 18, 2013

October 12, 2013 has been designated "Day of Kindness" in our Church. In preparation for Metro Mission 2014, each church Pastoral District / Cluster is being encouraged to identify a humanitarian community project and fill that need during the week of generosity, October 12 - 18. It is being proposed that groups in the church, (Sabbath School classes, AYS bands, Pathfinder clubs, Community Services Teams etc) help somebody in the name of the greatest philanthropist the world has ever seen - Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Like in previous years, churches are invited to report these projects to the Community Services Department of the East Jamaica Conference before the events take place.

Note also that we ask you to end with Adventist Childrens Sabbath. Childrens Sabbath is a day set aside by churches all over the world for the purpose of spotlighting and affirming the children in our midst. It also draws attention to the need of children at risk in the world. Traditionally the North American Division celebrates this special day the first Sabbath in October. This year we ask you to end week of prayer with Childrens Sabbath; however if this date is not available to you, we encourage you to have a childrens Sabbath whenever you can. This day provides a great excuse to invite neighbours, friends, and inactive members to bring their children. The more you put into planning and promoting this special day, the more impact it will have on your church and your community. No one sends a child on an errand and gets angry with him if he does not do well. Ghana
