For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God. 2 Timothy 1:7-8

How fast this Year of Faith has gone! Soon a new year will be upon us, and with that a new theme. We continue with the call to the New Evangelization, and especially the lay response needed. As such, we have decided on our theme for 2014. We are Empowered to Witness. Our theme is taken from 2 Timothy 1:7-8. We are witnesses, that is, the silent witness of a holy life, and the verbal witness of gospel proclamation. In this we are empowered by the Holy Spirit, who sanctifies us and sends us off on mission. The year 2014 will see an escalation of our work of evangelization. We see explosive growth for such initiatives as the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC)

Movement, for the Live Pure Movement, for our work with the poor. These are all in line with the Churchs priorities: lapsed Catholics, the youth, the poor.

To respond to Gods call and plan, we must shed any spirit of cowardice. We must bravely march forth, responding to the calls to sainthood, martyrdom

and spiritual warfare. This is the Christian life. This is the great privilege given to us as CFC FFL.
