Monday 14 October 2013 ALL INDIA WEATHER BULLETIN (Night) Monsoon Watch

The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continue to pass through Kalpa, Hissar, Jodhpur and Naliya. Conditions are indicative of further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from remaining parts of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Rajasthan; entire Uttarakhand; most parts of west Uttar Pradesh; some parts of west Madhya Pradesh and some more parts of Gujarat State around 17th October 2013.

Main Weather Observations

RAINFALL: (From 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of today): Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most places over Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; at many places over J h a r k h a n d , G a n g e t i c W es t B e n g a l a n d n o r t h O d i s h a ; at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh and C hhatt is garh an d at isolated places over J am m u & Kas hm ir , Madh ya Prades h, Konk an & G oa, c oas ta l Karn at ak a, Andhra Prades h, T am ilnadu and And am an & Nic obar Is lands . W eather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 1 7 30 hours IST of today are: Purnea-21;Bhagalpur-11;Gorakhapur-6; Malda, Gangtok, Patna, Siliguri and Tadong-3 each and Behrampore and Shantiniketan-2 each. Temperatures: Maximum temperatures are above normal by 2-5C over many parts of T am ilnadu and northeas tern states . They are below normal by 5 - 8 C o v e r m a n y p a r t s o f e a s t a n d a d j o i n i n g c e n t r a l I n d i a a n d b y 2 - 4 C o v e r r e s t e a s t a n d c e n t r a l I n d i a , e a s t R a j a s t h a n a n d n o r t h M a h a r a s h t r a and near normal over rest parts of the country. Kalpana-1: Cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over many parts of n o r t h Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, eastcentral Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.

The well marked low pressure area over southwest Bihar and neighbourhood persists. The upper air cyclonic circulation over east Rajasthan and neighbourhood in lower levels persists. The western disturbance as an upper air system n o w neighbourhood. lies over Jammu & Kashmir and

Weather Forecast for next 3 days (upto 0830 hours IST of 17th October, 2013)
Rain/thundershowers would occur at most places over Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 48 hours and decrease thereafter. Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Jharkhand, north Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter. Rain/thundershowers would occur a few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and decrease over east Uttar Pradesh after 24 hours. Rain/thundershowers would occur a few places over Jammu & Kashmir during next 24 hours and at isolated subsequent 24 hours and mainly dry thereafter. Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. Rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated over rest of the country outside west Rajasthan and Saurashtra & Kutch.

Weather Warning during next 3 days

14 October: Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at a few places over Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over north Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. 15 October: Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at a few places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Bihar. 16 October: Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.

Weather Outlook for subsequent 4 days from 17th October to 21th October, 2013
Rain/thundershower would occur at many places over south peninsular India and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Rain/thundershower would occur at a few places over northeastern states and adjoining east India. Weather would be mainly dry over most parts of northwest and adjoining central and west India.
