WASTE MANAGEMENT & RECYCLING Conference & Exhibition 5-7 March, 2014, So a, Bulgaria

THE EVENT

Todays waste management industry has come a long way. In contrast to the historical approach of managing waste disposal through land lling or burning, the instant model for waste management focuses on reducing waste production and diverting waste from disposal. Nowadays the environmental technology solutions ensure maximizing the value of resources while minimizing the impact on the environment. The countries in South-East Europe, no matter they are EU members or future ones, follow this trend and all of them are aiming in becoming a part of the European recycling society. How will the new technologies become available there? The governments across the Region are currently updating their national legislation and modernizing the old infrastructure. Promising are the prospects for the industrys long-term growth. It is necessary the countries to stop waste land lling which pollutes large areas and to implement the EU waste targets: the countries must recycle 50 % of its waste by 2020 and reduce the disposal of biodegradable waste to 25 % of total volume. From 5th to 7th of March 2014 Save the Planet - the South-East European Exhibition & Conference on Waste Management, Recycling & Environment will open its doors. Julio Garca Burgus, Head of Waste Management Unit - C2, DG Environment EC, ranked the 2013 edition as a very timely event in view of the challenges we are facing in the waste management sector. Keeping pace with the market trends and demand, Save the Planet will provide participants with a quick market entry and lucrative opportunity to showcase their advanced technologies to all the important players in Bulgaria and the Region. The Conference will engage the delegates in lively discussions on real problems and will shape possible solutions. Since the rst edition in 2010 Save the Planet has marked a sustainable growth: the exhibition area has been increased nearly 10 times for the past 4 years and the number of exhibitors - 3 times for the same period.
