Lock PRLAM-12 Locking Angle Mold

Provides a ledge to install Gypsum Board on level plane. Separates upper and lower Gypsum Board installations. Weep holes in PRLAM-12 allow drainage. Install ShortSpan tees last in PRLAM-12 after other trades finish in plenum. Ceiling Gypsum Board installation is easier to install on a wider surface.

SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION: Pre-Rock Two Phase Gypsum Board Application:

1. Framing crew installs Pre-Rock Locking Angle Mold (PRLAM12). 2. Board crew installs top layer of moisture resistant Gypsum Board to wall studs before job is watertight. (Add fire caulk to joint between Pre-Rock gypsum and top leg of molding as required by code). This allows other subs to procede with interior work (such as penetrations through top layer for air ducts, water pipes, vents, etc.) Fire caulking and taping can also be done on top layer around these penetrations. 3. Install ShorSpan tees for drywall ceiling 4. Board crew installs lower layer of Gypsum Board to wall studs after job is water tight. Lower layer covers vertical leg and touches horizontal leg of Pre-Lock Angle Mold (PRLAM-12).

Installation Notes: 1. Must screw Pre-Rock LAM-12 to wall structure (#8 wafer head self drill sheet metal screws tested in 25 and 20 gauge steel studs). 2. ShortSpan tees must be cut within 1/8 of Pre-Rock gypsum board or 3/8 of board for fire rating. 3. To engage ShortSpan tees into Locking Pockets: insert right hand flange of tee into long pocket first and allow left flange to clear short pocket and rest flat.
