Joey Tuan
Joey oversees the team, leads product development from concept to market, and manages the entire business operation from marketing to fundraising. His health 2.0 expertise spans across technology and business. He coded healKick, the social network for young adults with neuroimmune illness that won the Wellsphere Health Impact Award in 2011. Hes also an award-winning health blogger. In the past 3 years hes managed a number of e-patient websites with membership in the thousands. Recently he was the cofounder of another early-stage tech startup. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley, and worked as a financial analyst and consultant prior to focusing on healthcare after developing a chronic illness.

Cari Allshouse
Cari is our marketing director. She handles patient recruitment and engagement by steering social media campaign and email campaign optimization. She also clayout, design, and features to meet patientspecific needs. She writes and optimizes SEO for the HealClick blog. She combines her experience of battling illness as a child with exceptional EQ to connect deeply with patients, tap quickly into what they want, and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to meet those needs. She co-created and administers healKick. She has gained over 6,000 social media followers and managed several e-patient communities. In the last 2 years she has become an expert copywriter with a re-tweet rate in the 95% percentile of all users and a reach of 27,500 twitter accounts.

Marcelo Ribeiro
Marcelo is our lead developer. His 12 years of experience as a developer started while studying for his Physics Bachelors degree from University of Sao Paulo (one of Brazils top universities). He has become a multi-tier, data-driven web and app developer. He is the CEO of RubyThree, an all-star team of developers varying from iOS, Android to Web software. After becoming a successful entrepreneur back home in Brazil, he moved to the US with a mission to help build innovation and top notch technology, while assembling great technology teams. Marcelo has worked with several health-related startups in the US, and has experience with every aspect of a technology business, from marketing, user experience, search engine optimization to financial administration, technical lead and advising.

Meet Our Team

Beth Mazur
Beth is our lead architect overseeing all technical planning. She specializes in software design, performance optimization, data mining, and algorithms. She studied Computer Science at MIT where she did research in data mining large data sets. She has worn many hats in her career, from fullstack developer to consultant for companies ranging from Fortune 500 to small startups. She worked in lead positions for several startups but always itched for more meaningful work. In 2007 she started building open-source software for microfinance institutions and for the city of San Francisco. Beth has expertise in a wide range of programming languages including Java, Ruby on Rails, SQL, and PHP. She has mastered several data analysis tools including Jasper, R, and BLAST.

Damion Nabarrete
Damion is our designer and front-end developer. He comes from an artist background and loves creating useful and beautiful applications for people to utilize. Throughout his web design career, he has developed a need to help make the internet more approachable and an overall enjoyable experience. He is capable of capturing detailed engineering factors that help ensure a great user experience. Hes been a freelance web design and developer since early 2011 and has been creating all tech prototypes for a personal incubator he co-started. Damion is familiar with a list of languages: Mainly HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Symfony2; he also has experience working with jQuery, SASS, MySql, HAML, Ruby, Java and CMS platforms such as Wordpress & Magento.
