Responsibilities Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on Go ogle's product offering. Write server-side code for web-based applications, create robust high-volume pro duction applications, and develop prototypes quickly. Build our platforms, systems and networking infrastructure using your strong bac kground in distributed systems, OS/kernel, network system design,and large scale storage systems. Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to massive amounts of data an d information. Solve all problems that come your way.

Minimum Qualifications BS in Computer Science or related field (In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience). 1 year relevant industry work experience. Experience programming in C/C++ and/or Java. Preferred Qualifications Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field. Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structure s, algorithms and software design. Experience with large systems software design and development, with extensive kn owledge of UNIX/Linux. Significant development software with strong knowledge of C/C++ and/or Java. Coding skills in Python or JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or know ledge of TCP/IP and network programming. Area Google is and always will be an engineering company.
