In just a few weeks’ time you’ll be coming to Staffordshire University!
Going to university is a big step and we know there’ll be lots for you to do, plan, arrange and sort out before you join us.
That’s why we’ve put together this helpful guide, so you’ll know exactly what you’ll need, what support we can offer you
and what to expect during the first few weeks.
By now you should have also received our Students’ Guide to Staffordshire and a great guide about the Students’ Union,
its venues and how to make the most of your membership.
If you’re joining us from overseas, you will have also received information from our International Admissions Office.
That’s about it for now - other than to say that at Staffordshire University we are committed to helping you make the
most of your student experience and preparing you for life’s great adventure. We look forward to welcoming you to the

Medical card - plus any important information about your medical history - remember this is not necessary if you are
already registered with a local GP.
Any repeat prescription details - plus the repeat prescription tear-off slip from your last prescription - again not
necessary if you’re already registered with a local GP.
Student Finance England Support notification form. (If you are receiving a student maintenance loan, this form is
used to make the first payment into your bank account.).
Proof of Identity - we need two forms of personal ID. One must include a photograph (e.g. passport or driving

You can choose to take out a student loan if you are
eligible and defer paying tuition fees until you complete
your studies. You must then repay the loan after you
have left University and are earning more than £15,000 a
