Abstract This project investigated if learning with music is better; music is a part of our lives, and in this project we will try to prove that music affects the learning process. During our project we performed an experiment which consists of memorizing words with and without music, this in order to know if you learn better with music or in absence of this. First, we evaluated the participants, giving them a piece of paper with some words in a different language without music and then we gave them different set of words but listening to music. The results were that listening to music during the experiment increased the rating results.

Introduction

Getting concentrated is complicated for many people; you might have difficulties opening a book and start studying the lesson of the class, so we will talk about how music helps the learning process by making work specific areas of the brain. The project we have chosen will show the improvements of studying with music.

Academic achievement is closely linked to learning styles and motivation. Several studies have been carried out and have identified that learning styles and motivation differ based on someones needs and knowledge. (Sengodan & Iksan, 2012)

One of the most important things for any student in the school is to get good grades, the formula for achieving this results is to have a good method of study, many people said that a student with an excellent study method is always going to receive amazing grades in the exams, so listening to a certain type of music while studying is one of the best methods, (Tajadura-Jimnez A, Pantelidou G, Rebacz P, Vstfjll D, Tsakiris M. (2011). I-Space: The Effects of Emotional Valence and Source of Music on Interpersonal Distance. PLoS ONE, 6, 8. 05/02/2013, De EBSCO Base de datos.) many experts claim

that classical music is more helpful than another kind of music to absorb information easier and process it in a better way. This research (Tajadura-Jimnez A, Pantelidou G, Rebacz P, Vstfjll D, Tsakiris M. (2011). I-Space: The Effects of Emotional Valence and Source of Music on Interpersonal Distance. PLoS ONE, 6, 8. 05/02/2013, De EBSCO Base de datos.) mentions the important benefits that listening to music can generate. Many investigations (cite them) that talk about conscious and unconscious many of them said that the classic music or relaxing music work like a brain booster, and wake up some areas of our brain, in a investigation (cite it) if music helps to study they talks about classical music helps them especially Mozart, so there are many background about knowledge, study methods and how music can help with that (you need to cite all this work you are talking about, otherwise it is not thrust). Hypothesis Music affects the learning capability in people. -Objectives Find an easy way to improve the absorption of knowledge using music. a) Evaluate people learning capability without music and with this. b) Show that learning process is better listening to music, using the following methodology, giving some words to a group of 10 people in a different language and evaluate them first memorizing without listening to music and after listening to music.

-Methodology

We investigated a language that is not common in Mxico and give some words of this language to the people that will help us, after researching various languages we conclude that the Polish was the best language for our test, we chose a total of 20 words dividing 10 for the test without music and 10 with music, both tests with the same level of difficulty, after that we investigated which songs were quiet and appropriate for the experiment, we took 10 people to a room. We gave them the first test which was carried out without listening to music, then we gave them the second test which was carried with music, both tests were of the same difficulty and we gave them five minutes to complete each test, after that we compared the data to review with which test obtained better grades, the one with music or without music.

-Conclusion

With the results we obtained an average of 5.9 and 2.7 with music without music, which gives a p value of 0.0001715, which shows that we can learn better with music. Music increases concentration levels improving learning skills, so this experiment shows that learning capability increases.
