Generally, the first word come up when we heard about legislation is law or act that contains the certain process depends on a countries. My task for this week is to explain five legislations that influenced the management of human resources in Malaysia. Firstly, what I want to discuss is about The Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) 1994. This act was set up for encourage high standards of safety and health at work. In addition, it helps all Malaysian employees and employers o create a healthy, better and safe working culture in their workplace. Both employees and employers should take place in order to satisfy all their needs and requirements. They should follow all the process that set up by an organization. They must always investigate to collect then analyze all the problem foe review and overcome that issue. Second, its about the Employment Act 1955. As an employees or employers, this act is very important since youre related to your employment. From this act, you can know your rights. Its all about the contract of service, wages, special case for female employee that should not employed in any underground working condition regarding to safety case. Besides that, this act really give benefits for those who required to work on paid holiday, they shall get double paid salary, but if they required to work overtime on paid holiday, they get triple paid of salary. These rewards can encourage the employees to work hard and happy with their work. Third, I will explain about act that familiar with us as an employment. Industrial Relations Act (IRA) 1967 protects the rights of worker and employers and their trade unions. From this act, they create harmony relationship between employers and employees. They prevent and settle down the differences that arrive among their relationship. The union that they create among them only handles by themselves with less attention by government (Industrial Court). But if they have any difficult solution to settle up, government will take part. Furthermore, they

concerns about working environment that been affecting by legislation, terms and condition of work and process by which the rules and terms are made in the organization. Next, as the forth of explanation of legislations in Malaysia, I choose The Trades Unions Act (TUA) 1959. The main objectives of this act are to protect its members of union, same as IRA 1967. This act regulates the relationship between employees and their employers. They also have to conclude collective agreements to represent the employees in Industrial Court, Labour Court, etc. This union can register if they have members of seven and must have a printed copy signed by all the seven members. This act seems not many more can elaborate because it all about employees and employers relationship. Finally at the last point, I interested to explain about Private Retirement Scheme (PRS), because we as an employee at the end of the day will retire from our job. But we as individual may choose our own decision where to invest in based on our own retirement needs, goals and consider risk appetite. Basically, this Private Pension Administrator (PPA) as a record keeping and centre of resource act as data and research relating to the PRS industry in Malaysia. The assets of each PRS will aggregated from the PRS provider and held by an independent scheme trustee under a trust.
