About the Logo and Color Variations

About the AIAG Logo

The AIAG logo is drawn to specific standards and must not be recreated or modified. The corporate logo should be reproduced from the master digital artwork, which is available from AIAGs Marketing Coordinator. Primarily, logos are available in four formats: EPS Preferred file format for high resolution printing TIFF Next-best file format for high resolution printing JPEG For online viewing, including websites and e-communications PNG For PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications Other formats may be available depending on intended enduse.

Color Variations
There are three usable color variations of the logo. No other alternatives are allowed. Pantone Cool Gray 11 or CMYK = 0c, 0m, 0y, 80k (RGB = 88, 89, 91 / HTML = 58595b) on light backgrounds

100% black on light backgrounds

White reversed on a solid color background

Care should be taken to ensure that the logo always has a good contrast from the background to give the best impact and legibility. See page 7, Unacceptable Appearance, for examples.

Variations, Size Requirements and Logo Exclusion Zone

Acceptable Variations and Logo Size Requirements

While there isnt a minimum size requirement for the horizontal logo, it must always remain clear and legible. There are no restrictions for a maximum size. In situations where horizontal logo wouldnt be clear and legible, an alternate version is available.

Logo Exclusion Zone

When used for purposes other than official AIAG materials, there should be a clear space area around the logotype, equal in distance to the height of the capital A in the logo.

Any other variations can weaken the AIAG brand.

This buffer ensures that the logo is not crowded, but clear and legible instead.

The AIAG Logo

Resizing and Unacceptable Appearance

Resizing
When importing or placing the logo into any application, it is critical that the height and width be kept in the proper proportion. Care should be taken to keep the aspect ratio the same when resizing the AIAG logo. In the Microsoft Office suite, this is done by resizing using the corner handles only, indicated by the red circles below. Do not resize using the side, top or bottom handles.

Examples of How the Logo Should Not Appear

Out of proportion: Too narrow Out of proportion: Too short

Not enough contrast

In other software (e.g., Adobe products, QuarkXPress, etc.), be sure that the height and width fields are locked together or use the Scale function from the menus. Not enough clear space

Introduction to AIAG Publications

AIAG produces publications and technical manuals written by AIAG volunteer committees. In some cases, the publications are developed in cooperation with AIAGs international sister organizations. To ensure that AIAG publications have a consistent look and feel, they share common cover designs (both print and electronic versions), are formatted in a similar fashion, and are printed using the same specifications. This section will illustrate the cover and page designs, for both AIAG and global publications, as well as detailing the print specifications required. All templates can be obtained from AIAGs Marketing Coordinator. Templates include explanations/specifications to ensure proper layout across all AIAG-developed publications.

FOREWORD
The Supply Chains that support todays modern and lean manufacturing environment are more complex and wide-ranging than ever before. In recent years, sourcing strategies have changed significantly and product is now purchased from every part of the globe as the financial benefit of buying from new and emerging markets has become more commonplace. As the supply chain has become more extended, with product being shipped across and between continents, greater reliance has been placed on the relationship between the parties (customer, supplier, transport organizations, etc.) involved in the physical movement of the goods. Clearly, it is normal for a contractual relationship to exist between the various supply chain partners in the form of a purchase order or contract that specifies the services to be provided and the associated costs involved. However, it is also important that the operational and day-to-day working relationship between the parties is documented in a Logistics Agreement so that roles and responsibilities are clarified. The purpose of this Global Materials Management and Logistics Agreement (GMMLA) document is to provide recommendations and advice regarding the format and content of such an agreement. In 2003 Odette, which represents the European automotive industry, released the initial version of the Logistics Agreement. In June 2007, a project group comprising members of AIAG, which represents the North American automotive industry, and Odette began developing a global version. The document was completed and published in January 2008.

Introduction to AIAG Training Materials

AIAG offers training developed and presented by external training providers. This material is not AIAG-owned and is developed by these external sources. As a result, there is not a standard template for this material since there are multiple variables involved (e.g., training provider, instructor preference, material being taught, etc.).
