Centre for Information & Network Security is an application oriented research, design
and development centre in the field of information Security created under aegis of
Ministry of Communication and information technology, Government of India at the
University of Pune. This is the first institute of its kind in India and has created a premier
research and training capabilities in this field for Govt. of India. The creation of CINS
was due to the emergent need for indigenous development of intellectual property in the
field of information security, in order to address and counter issues related to National
Security.
Information Security awareness is essential for a sound overall information Security
policy and its effective implementation. CINS can develop customized Security
Awareness Training Programs for all levels of the organization. Our training programs
are compelling and engaging and concentrate on equipping individuals to address all
information Security needs.CINS spearheading this initiative in Information Security
training and certification by offering full time as well as part time courses.

Diploma Course in Advanced Network Security

Course Duration: Timings:

Full Time: Six Months 10am To 1pm and 2pm to 4pm
Part Time: Twelve Months 4:30pm To 7pm

FAQ’s

Eligibility:
Any graduate with basic computer networking knowledge and computer background.
Entrance test:

Admissions will be on the basis of merit of Entrance Exam.

The test will be conducted on 13th July 2009, at Pune University. The exact time and
venue will be made available on the website. The candidates are required to carry any one
of the photo identity (such as driving license, passport, college identity card, etc) at the
time of entrance exam.
Reservations apply as per the state government rules.

How to apply:
1. Take the Printout of the Application Form.
2. Attach a demand draft of Rs. 400/- for open and Rs. 300/- for reserved categories,
drawn in favor of “The Registrar, University of Pune”, the details of which are entered in
the application form.
3. Write Full Name & phone number at the back side of demand draft.
4. Attach the attested copy of caste certificate if belonging to a reserved category. Write
exact caste on the form e.g. SC1, NT2, etc
5. Attach the attested copy of mark sheet of the qualifying exam.
6. Attach a Self-addressed envelope, stamped with appropriate postage.
(The original documents concerning item 4 and 5 above, and a transfer/leaving
certificate if applicable, should be produced before July 30 of the current year if the
candidate is admitted to the programme.)

How to Send:
The completed form along with relevant documents can be sent either by post or by hand.
The date for submission of application form is 06th July 2009.

5. Admissions will be on the basis of merit in entrance examination only.

6. Entrance examination will comprise of Aptitude Questions (50%) and Technical

Question (50%). The technical questions will be based on basic knowledge of
computers, operating systems, networking, internet technologies etc.

8. Entire Course and entrance will be conducted in university campus only. There
is no any center outside the campus.
