Road Week #4 Choice #4: The Housecleaning Choice


The first three choices are about getting my heart right. This choice is about taking action. I openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. Are there people out there youd never want to bump into again??? Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Come now, let us settle the matter, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18 Guilt destroys our confidence, damages our relationships, and keeps us stuck in the past. Its like looking in the rearview mirroryou do it too long and you start to turn the wheel or get into an accident. Keep your eyes focused on what is in front of you and not on your past. Getting rid of guilt

Step 1: Take a Personal Inventory


Make a person moral inventory (make time to begin your inventory) Open heart and mind bring to surface Rely on Gods grace Analyze the past honestly List both good and bad choices in your life 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Guilt what are you feeling guilty about? Relationships am I right with others? Habits - drinking, lust, drugs, addictions Attitudes depression, anger, judging others, negativity Final Walk Through what happened that I need to think aboutdont shy away from certain things that may seem painful to deal withthey will come back to haunt you if you do not deal with them.

Step 2: Accept Responsibility for my faults

Dont blame others. Blame stands from B Lame and Raitionalize Rational Lies

Step 3: Ask God for forgiveness


1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Step 4: Admit your faults to a trusted personof the same gender who is mature enough to handle it.
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. You are only as sick as your secrets. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 And the corny says is: Revealing your feelings is the beginning of healing. Romans 5:16: Again, the gift of God is not like the result of one mans sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.
