To whom this may concern, My name is Scott Brown and I would like to outline a little about myself. I have an extensive background in the retail sector, primarily in supermarkets, covering all areas, including; warehousing, cash handling, reconciliation and back office systems, stock control, merchandising and store management. I have a deep understanding of customer service, staffing, budgeting, and grocery/liquor merchandising and have a track record of loyalty, honesty and team work within the work places I have been a part of. After establishing myself within the supermarket sector, I was elevated to the role of store manager in 2005 and continued in this role until 2010. During my time in this role, I grew sales, controlled costs and managed stock. I worked closely with Directors, executives, and other staff to implement and fulfill desired outcomes for the business, and had particular success growing sales in grocery and liquor departments of the stores I managed. In 2010 I started my Bachelor of education degree and will be qualified to teach in November 2014. I am passionate about education and have a deep love of learning. History
I joined the Khan group back in 2001 and commenced work as a storeman at their Gerringong store. During 2004 I approached the Directors of the company to become Store manager of the Gerringong Supermarket after the position became available. By 2005 I was appointed as Store manager. I ran the Gerringong store for 2.5 years before I approached the Directors to take on the challenge of running one of their far western stores. I was appointed the store manager of Cobar SUPA IGA in late 2007. After running the Cobar store for 1.5years I was approached by the directors to manage their Bourke store which I managed up until June of 2010.

P ROFESSIONAL E XPERIENCE
KHANS SUPA IGA is a leading NSW grocery retailer. KHANS SUPA IGA has 800 employees and annual revenues
exceeding $80 million. As store manager I would oversee all sales and Gross profit statements, new product rollouts, key account management, customer relationship development, staff hire, and order fulfillment. Hold Profit / Loss budget meetings, provide crossfunctional team training, including coaching, and mentoring. As well as designing, implementing and adjusting various sales plans and programs for specific product lines.

Selected Achievements:

Instrumental in complete turnaround of the under-performing Gerringong store I was able to Change our wage spend from 9% to 8.3% of sales Increased store gross profit from 21.2% to 23.5% Made significant changes in Cobar store Increased sales by 20% at the Cobar store changed wage spend from 8% to 7.21% Increased the take up of in store frequent shopper membership from 11% to 28% Implemented new roster system and decreased staff turnover while increasing staff retention at Cobar store. While at Cobar I implemented up-dated and efficient ordering systems and reshaped staffing structures to accommodate modern practices. Implemented new inventory control system and new ordering program Designed new liquor departments at both Cobar and Bourke stores resulting in increased sales, range expansion, customer satisfaction and increased customer flow.
