To Motivate Young People To Be Better Citizens

Homecoming
The Homecoming parade was a huge success. As everyone prepares to get ready for homecoming, cadets were preparing for the parade. Everybody was nervous and busy trying to have everything ready for the special occasion. The parade was a lot better than expected and the cadets made a spectacular debut. For the most part it was a great way to start off the year; we have new and excited cadets ready to learn. For some this has been their first parade, but for the senior cadets, it would be their last.

Cannon Crew Is Back!

The cannon crew is student lead team that consists of organized and disciplined cadets. Cannon crew has 3 gun crews! The cannon itself is a replica of a civil war cannon. The entire team is three people per crew and one commander. The cannon crew fires the cannon in celebration for every time our varsity football team scores a touchdown as well as the national anthem. It provides an understanding of the army core values and instills patriotism in the cadets that participate within cannon crew.

Aquatic Swim Meet

This year the wildcat battalion had the honor to participate in the annual JROTC Swim meet.

Saber Team
The saber team did an excellent job performing at the homecoming game! With short notice and little practice time saber team pulled it off. If it wasnt for saber team, we would have never had a great halftime show. Congrats to Braden Gant (commander of saber team) for making JROTC a wonderful debut to The halftime show.

The swim meet was a friendly and challenging event between three schools (Las Vegas, Bonanza, and Cheyenne) that rounded in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Congrats to Christopher Mayorga for being on the winning 1st place team. Over all it was a huge successes and the cadets enjoyed the challenging event.

WILDCAT BATTALION STAFF

"Welcome back wildcats! This year in JROTC should be outstanding year due to the huge changes within the program. I believe we will have a great year from the outstanding performance from our drill teams to cannon crew coming back within in the program. We have a new instructor in our program (1SG David Pectol) he is now currently teaching the LET 1s, 1SG Pectol will have a good impact on the program and is a big part of the huge success we have starting the year off. 1SG Simmons has been moved up to the position of senior instructor, I believe because of this 1SG Simmons will lead this program into glory for the years to come. SFC Cooper who has been in this program for a little over four years, currently teaches the LET 2s, He is an outstanding instructor that is dedicated to this program. Lets have a great year in JROTC Wildcats! C/1LT Brian Cook
